New Holland L-425 will drive and steer fine but boom and bucket won't move at all

Check the seat switch circuit first, page 99. Sit fully in the seat and push down on both corners of the cushion while a test light is wired in series with the switch leads; if the light stays dark, the 1/16" clearance between switch button and seat frame is closed up and the lockout thinks you're not seated. Adjust the bracket to restore that gap before chasing the valve or pump.

Boom raises slowly or won't lift a loaded bucket at all

Pull the suction screen and check it for debris first; a plugged screen starves the pump and mimics a relief valve problem. Confirm engine is holding rated RPM, then check the main system relief setting on the control valve, pages 53-55. Inspect boom cylinders for bent shafts or internal piston leakage, and verify the boom arms aren't binding mechanically before condemning the pump.
