Part number 47632315B, English, October 2014, is printed on the cover. It is the factory New Holland service manual for the LM6.32, LM 6.35 ELITE, LM7.35, LM 7.42 ELITE and LM9.35 Tier4 telehandlers. It covers two engine groups. The LM6.32, LM7.35 and LM9.35 run the F4HFE413C*A at 81 kW with a ZF 4WG98TSC. The ELITE models run the F4HFE413J*A at 96 kW with a ZF 6WG98TSC.

The book prints fitting torques item by item, for example 117 - 128 N·m (86.3 - 94.4 lb ft) on the tilt, lift, auxiliary and telescopic hydraulic tubes.

It also has the hydraulic schema for each model group, the electrical schematic sheets, the harness drawings and fault code troubleshooting tables.

New Holland LM6.32–LM9.35 Common Problems This Manual Covers

2931 Unknown data from ZF serial line / 2932 No data from ZF serial line

Page 1190 rates both codes level 4 on all models. For 2931 the cause is data corruption, and the action is to replace the ZF controller. For 2932 the causes are, in printed order: TCU not powered (verify harness and connectors), serial line interrupted (UCM reprogramming or replacement), and serial UCM or TCU driver corrupted (TCU replacement).

Manual Section: Warning indicators, fault codes and calibration p. 1190
4950 Hydraulic Cut Off: unable to pilot Telescope Cut Off Valve

Page 1192 lists this code at warning level 2. The causes, in printed order, are a failure on the hydraulic system, a wiring or electrical fault, a damaged boom/tilt CutOff press switch, and a broken CutOff valve. The matching actions are to check the hydraulic system, verify the harness and connectors, verify the CutOff press switch and verify the CutOff valve.

Manual Section: Warning indicators, fault codes and calibration p. 1192
Error code no. 2059: Shuttle lever disagreement

Page 1189 lists error code no. 2059 at warning level 2 for the LM6.32, LM7.35 and LM9.35. The possible causes are a wrong combination of Forward, Reverse and Neutral inputs, or a wiring or electrical fault (SC2Vbatt). The actions are to verify the connector, verify the shuttle lever output signal and verify the Gear Up and Gear Down push buttons.

Manual Section: Warning indicators, fault codes and calibration p. 1189
Fan motor does not work

The air conditioning troubleshooting chart on pages 746-747 lists the causes in this printed order: fuse blown, electrical wire broken or not connected, resistor wire broken, fan motor switch, and fan motor. The same chart also covers air flow and compressor faults for the cab system.

Manual Section: Cab climate control p. 746

Frequently Asked Questions

What do New Holland LM telehandler fault codes mean?

The fault code index on page 1159 lists the codes supported for each ECU, and the DMD also shows them with an icon. On page 1162 the book explains that the UCM converts engine SPN and FMI fields into CNH error codes. ECM codes run 3001-4000 and DCU codes run 19001-20000. For example, 3001 = Foot throttle sensor - signal not plausible. p. 1159

How do I set the LS relief pressure on an LM7.42?

Page 508 has the procedure. Run the engine at maximum rpm and use the joystick to extend a cylinder to its limit stop. Connect a pressure gauge with a 300 bar (4350 psi) range to port (P). The book prints: 'The optimum pressure value is 236.5 - 243.5 bar (3429.2 - 3530.8 psi) and 246.5 - 253.5 bar (3574.2 - 3675.8 psi) for LM 6.35 and LM 7.42 models.' p. 508

What are the fluid capacities for the LM6.32 to LM9.35 Tier4 telehandlers?

These are from page 43. Engine oil with filter change is 12 l (3.2 US gal) and the cooling system is 24 l (6.3 US gal). The fuel system is 140 l (37 US gal). The hydraulic system total is 130 l (34.3 US gal) of NEW HOLLAND AMBRA MULTI G HYDRAULIC TRANSMISSION OIL. The transmission total is approximately 14 L (3.7 US gal). Front and rear axle take 7.5 - 8.5 L (2 - 2.2 US gal) of NEW HOLLAND AMBRA TRX 80W-140. The DEF/ADBLUE tank is 32 L (8.4 US gal). p. 43

What stall speeds should these machines reach?

Page 68 lists them by model group. On the LM6.32, LM7.35 and LM9.35, torque converter stall is 1960 - 2020 RPM, hydraulic stall is 2200 - 2300 RPM and combined stall is 1570 - 1630 RPM. On the LM6.35 and LM7.42, the figures are 2110 - 2170 RPM, 2250 - 2350 RPM and 1820 - 1880 RPM. Low idle is 1025 - 1075 RPM. p. 68

Does this manual cover engine internals?

No. The engine section gives the NEF 4.5 L specifications and describes the fuel injection, air intake, SCR exhaust treatment, cooling and lubrication systems. Page 69 states that for inspection and overhaul of the engine, you refer to the specific manual 84392377 (ENGLISH). p. 69
