New Holland T5.90, T5.100, T5.110, T5.120 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Fault code 2024 - All clutches not calibrated
The Fault Codes (DTC) section says clutch feathering will be poor, jerky or sluggish when the transmission is not calibrated. If the transmission has not been calibrated since the control unit (CCU) was replaced, or since H8 was used, delete the EEPROM memory and run the transmission calibration procedure.
Manual Section: FAULT CODES - 2024 All clutches not calibrated p. 2881Fault code 19141 (DTC 4CCA) - DEF/AdBlue quality sensor detects diesel fuel in DEF/AdBlue tank
The SCR and DEF diagnostics in the Fault Codes (DTC) section list DEF/AdBlue fluid contaminated with diesel fuel as the cause. If there is diesel fuel contamination, flush the DEF/AdBlue tank and replace the DEF/AdBlue fluid. The DEF/AdBlue tank capacity is 9.6 L (2.5 US gal).
Manual Section: FAULT CODES - 19141 DEF/AdBlue quality sensor detects diesel fuel p. 3529Hard steering
The troubleshooting table under steering hydraulic control components lists a faulty hydraulic pump as a cause of hard steering, and the fix is to repair the pump. The same chapter covers steering control, tie rods and the steering cylinders, and the steering section includes a diagram of 4WD power steering operation.
Manual Section: Hydraulic control components - Troubleshooting p. 1308Fault code 19002 (DTC 2461) - Battery voltage is lower than expected
The fault code entry lists a faulty charging system as the cause: if the charging system is not functioning properly, repair the charging system as necessary. The Engine Controls, Starting and Charging chapter covers the battery and charging procedures, and the schematic section includes the power distribution and grounds sheets.
Manual Section: FAULT CODES - 19002 Battery voltage is lower than expected p. 3437Frequently Asked Questions
Which tractors does the New Holland T5.90 / T5.100 / T5.110 / T5.120 Tier 4B service manual cover?
It covers the T5.90, T5.100, T5.110 and T5.120 Tier 4B (final), part number 51543579, 1st edition, November 2018, North America. The cover reads PIN HLRT5120AJLE00620 and above. Eight variants are listed: each model with cab and without cab, with Dual Command transmission. Each variant has its own open PIN range. For example, the T5.90 with cab starts at HLRT5090AJLE03730. Check the PIN on your tractor's identification plate against these ranges. p. 2
What are the fluid capacities of the New Holland T5.90 to T5.120?
The fuel tank holds 160.0 L (42.3 US gal) and the DEF/AdBlue tank holds 9.6 L (2.5 US gal). Engine oil with the filter is 9.5 L (2.5 US gal). Engine coolant is 16.0 L (4.2 US gal) on cab models and 14.0 L (3.7 US gal) without a cab. The Dual Command drive line takes 57.0 L (15.1 US gal). The braking system takes 0.70 L (0.18 US gal), and the A/C charge is 650 g (23 oz). p. 36
What is the rated engine power of each New Holland T5 model in this manual?
Rated power (ECE R 120) is 63 kW (86 Hp) for the T5.90 and 73 kW (99 Hp) for the T5.100. The T5.110 makes 79 kW (107 Hp) and the T5.120 makes 86 kW (117 Hp). All four use the FPT F5C four-cylinder engine at 3400 cm³, rated at 2300 RPM. p. 30
What engine speed gives 540 PTO, and what is the hydraulic pump pressure on the New Holland T5?
You get 540 RPM at the PTO with the engine at 1938 RPM. Maximum pump pressure at rated speed on the high pressure circuit is 190.0 bar (2755.0 psi). p. 31
Does the New Holland T5.90 to T5.120 manual include wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics and fault codes?
Yes. There are electrical schematic sheets for both cab and platform tractors, covering power distribution, grounds, engine, transmission sensors and actuators, and CAN. You will find hydraulic schemas in the transmission, remote control valve and steering sections. The DTC section covers CCU, ADIC, ECU and EFH codes, for example 2024 - All clutches not calibrated and 19141 (DTC 4CCA) for diesel fuel in the DEF/AdBlue tank. p. 2069
