Inspect the axle main member pivot pin for excessive play. On 4WD models the upper and bottom pivot pin cap screws torque to 137 N.m (100 ft.-lbs.) per page 11. Measure steering knuckle end play with a dial indicator. On 2WD models replace the bushings if play exceeds 0.1 mm (0.004 in.), as specified on page 8. Remove the hub cap and check for missing seals or contaminated grease. Repack the bearing and torque the wheel bearing adjusting nut to 100 N.m (74 ft.-lbs.) on 2WD models per page 7.
