Part of the Case Repair Manuals.
Safety rules, repair precautions and the standard torque tables come first in this book. Then come general specifications, operating masses, capacities and product identification for the CX26B and CX30B Series 2, both powered by the Yanmar 3TNV82A-SYB. It is Case publication 84563194B, dated April 2014.
After that it covers the engine internals and fuel system, the AP2D12LV3RS7 pump and 10-spool control valve, swing, travel motor, central joint, cylinders, undercarriage, electrics and cab. The hydraulic schematic and schematic piping show how the lines run from pump to valve to cylinder. You can trace a leak or a lazy function on paper before you crack a fitting.
Hydraulic component model numbers and product identification are listed too. That helps you order the right part number the first time.

Case CX26B, CX30B Series 2 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Engine dies or will not restart after running the tank dry or changing a fuel filter
There is air in the fuel system. The manual gives a fuel bleeding procedure in the engine inspection and maintenance pages, next to the daily and 50-hour checks. Follow it in order before you start suspecting the injection pump or the injectors.
Manual Section: Engine and Crankcase - Inspection and Maintenance p. 75Rubber track sags, slaps or walks off the sprocket
Check track tension using the track tension unit procedure. On rubber track installs, the manual has you tighten the crawler adjuster grease nipple and set tension by feeding grease in. While you are under there, inspect the track rollers and drive sprocket.
Manual Section: Tracks and Track Suspension - Tracks p. 786Digging, swing or travel feels slow and weak across the machine
Start with the pressure checks in the general hydraulics section and compare your readings to the book's specs. If a reading is off, move on to the variable displacement pump and main control valve sections. Use the hydraulic schematic to see which circuits share the fault.
Manual Section: Hydraulic Systems - General / Pressure Checks p. 361Horn stays silent or the work light will not come on
Use the electrical troubleshooting charts, which cover both of these faults step by step. Follow the circuit on the electrical schematic. Then check the related connectors and harness runs in the harness and connector pages before you replace the switch or the bulb.
Manual Section: Electrical Systems - Troubleshooting p. 860Frequently Asked Questions
Does one manual really cover both the CX26B and the CX30B?
Yes. The specification tables split the two models where they differ. For example, operating mass with canopy is 2380 kg for the CX26B and 2700 kg for the CX30B. Cab versions are listed separately at 2700 kg and 2840 kg. p. 25
How do I get air out of a cylinder after replacing a hose or a cylinder?
Idle the engine for 5 minutes. At slow engine speed, cycle the cylinder 4 to 5 times. Stop about 100 mm short of the stroke end each way. The manual says to do this after removing or installing a cylinder, or after disconnecting a hydraulic pipe. p. 682
My boom creeps down with the lever in neutral. Where do I start?
Read up on the boom lock valve in the hydraulic circuit operation section. It is a check valve that stops the boom lowering under its own weight when the boom spool is in neutral. Then use the pressure check procedures and the cylinder section to narrow down the cause. p. 333
Are there fault codes or a diagnostic code list in this book?
No. This manual has no fault code or DTC list. Electrical diagnosis is done with troubleshooting charts, such as horn does not sound and work light does not turn on. You work through those alongside the electrical schematic and the harness and connector pages. p. 860
What engine figures does the Case CX26B, CX30B Series 2 manual give for a valve adjustment and compression test?
Valve clearance is 0.2 mm on intake and exhaust, set cold. Compression should read 3.06 - 3.26 MPa (443 - 473 psi) at 250 RPM. Injection pressure is 19.6 - 29.6 MPa. The Yanmar section also lists the special tools for the job. p. 59
