Part of the Case IH Repair Manuals.
Knotter service, flywheel brake work and main drive clutch setup on the Case IH 8575 baler and accumulator are laid out in this 719-page Case IH 8575 service manual PDF, factory publication Rac 7-81760. Electrical schematics come paired with circuit troubleshooting, and the hydraulic schematics explain system operation before moving into control valves and cylinders. Pickup adjustments and gauge wheels, packer, stuffer and charge chamber, plunger, bale tension, axle and centralized lubrication are covered too. The figures are factory numbers. Hold the packer finger bearing gap to 0.003 to 0.010 in (0.08 to 0.25 mm), then tighten the main drive shaft yoke nut to 150 lb-ft (205 N·m). When you check the reel drive chain, look for 1/2 in (13 mm) of deflection under 40 lb (174 N) of force. Bookmarks and a searchable text layer jump straight to the gearbox or knotter pages, so you can confirm the exact assembly before ordering a replacement.

Case IH 8575 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Case IH 8575 baler implement drive line (IDL) drive shaft making excessive noise during operation
Check hitch points and drawbar dimensions, then adjust the carrier bearing support so U-joint angles are equal, following page 71. Lubricate a dry IDL slip tube, straighten or replace bent shielding, and replace worn U-joints or worn splines. Tighten a clamp yoke to 76 LB-FT (page 73), because a loose yoke can slip off the shaft. Never run with drive line shields removed (page 11).
Manual Section: Implement Drive Line Troubleshooting p. 71Baler flywheel shearbolt shearing excessively and repeatedly while baling hay through the main drive
Verify PTO speed is 1000 rpm, reduce the load setting or ground speed, and confirm the main drive clutch slips slightly with each plunger stroke (page 100). Before touching hardware, disengage the PTO, turn off the baler control console, stop the engine, take the key, and apply the flywheel brake (page 98). Set the shearbolt bushing tight and flush, adjust flywheel bearings, and fit a genuine factory shearbolt and nut.
Manual Section: Flywheel Shearbolt Troubleshooting p. 100Stuffer/knotter shearbolt shearing excessively, with CHECK STUFFER shearbolt indicator shown on the LCD display
Verify the indicator and stop the baler immediately, then secure it per page 98: PTO disengaged, console off, engine off with key removed, flywheel brake applied. Check crop moisture, remove paint or rust in the charge chamber area, adjust the sensor door and stuffer brake, and verify stuffer timing, following page 162. Install the correct shearbolt (never Grade 2 or Grade 5) and tighten the self-locking nut to 105 LB-FT (page 160).
Manual Section: Stuffer/Knotter Shearbolt Troubleshooting p. 162Gearbox temperature warning: baler control console indicates gearbox too hot while the baler is running
Check gearbox oil level with the PTO disengaged, engine off, and flywheel brake applied (page 98), then fill as required and inspect seals for excessive leakage following page 109. Remove crop buildup around the gearbox. Test the temperature switch: contacts must open above 170°F (75°C) and close below 150°F (65°C) (page 328). Repair broken wires and replace a faulty switch or failed gearbox bearing.
Manual Section: Gearbox Temperature Troubleshooting p. 109Baler control console load control not functioning, with stuffer cycle dot "e" not flashing
Verify the correct tractor hydraulic remote is engaged, locked, and flowing in the right direction; do not operate until load control is corrected (page 321). Trip the stuffer manually, then check the stuffer sensor door, stuffer cycle inductive sensor adjustment, and its circuit. Loosen and retighten the pressure decrease solenoid coil nut to 5 LB-FT (page 612), then run the Pressure Control Test. Never check hydraulic leaks by hand (page 12).
Manual Section: Electrical System Troubleshooting p. 321Pickup failing to pick up crop clean from the windrow, with excessive pickup tine breakage
Adjust the pickup height control linkage rod so tines sit approximately 1-1/2 to 2 IN above ground, following page 209. Carry the pickup on the linkage rod, not the gauge wheels, and never let tines hit the ground continually (page 180). With the PTO disengaged and flywheel brake applied (page 98), adjust the flotation spring, replace bent or broken tines, and check the tine bar control arm and bearings.
Manual Section: Pickup Troubleshooting p. 209Frequently Asked Questions
How do I reset the Case IH 8575 baler controller if it locks up?
If the baler control console locks up with all or some of the LCD segments illuminated, you must disconnect the power supply cable from the back panel. Reconnect the power supply cable again to reset the console. p. 70
How do I adjust the bale density system on the Case IH 8575?
The operator selects the desired bale density by setting the plunger load on the baler control console. The console monitors the load at each plunger stroke and operates the baler control valve to increase or decrease pressure in the bale density cylinders to maintain the setting. p. 222
What is the correct torque for the gearbox mounting bolts on the Case IH 8575?
The gearbox mounting bolts must be tightened to 375 LB-FT (510 N-m) when installing the gearbox to the mainframe. p. 113
What oil type and capacity does the gearbox on the Case IH 8575 baler require?
The gearbox requires 10 U.S. quarts (9.5 L) of Case IH 135 EP Gear Lube SAE 85W 140. p. 30
How do I adjust the stuffer brake spring length?
Adjust the length of each stuffer brake spring to 1-13/32 IN (36 mm) by measuring the distance between the inside surface of the two washers. p. 370
How will I receive this Case IH 8575 Service Manual?
Delivery is instant: a 719-page searchable PDF is yours the second checkout clears. Laptop, tablet, or phone, all fine.
Does this Case IH 8575 manual allow printing?
Yes. Print a chapter or just the pages for the job at hand, for use in your own shop. Any home or office printer works.
