Doosan DX210, DX225LCB Common Problems This Manual Covers
Doosan DX210 hydraulic pump whining and slow bucket lift, gets worse as oil warms up
Check the hydraulic reservoir level first; the reservoir holds 140 liters and low oil pulls air into the suction line, which makes a pump whine. Bleed the system, then test main relief pressure against the 330 kg/cm2 spec on page 74. Pressure that will not reach spec with adjustment points to pump wear, not the relief valve.
Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting, Testing and Adjustment p. 275Machine pulls to one side when traveling, one track turns noticeably slower than the other
Jack up the slow side and time the travel motor jack-up test; high speed standard mode should run 17.4 to 20.4 seconds per page 80. If it runs slow, drain the travel motor gear oil, refill with 3.3 liters, and check the travel control valve for a sticking spool before condemning the motor.
Manual Section: Travel Motor p. 403Swing reduction gear growls and rotation feels jerky when starting or stopping a swing
Drain the swing reduction gear and measure what comes out; capacity is 3.8 liters per page 220, and a short drain means it has been running starved. Look for metal glitter in the oil before refilling. Grease the swing bearing and rotate the house between shots so grease spreads around the full race.
Manual Section: Swing Reduction Gear TroubleshootingCoolant temperature climbs under load and power falls off in hot weather
Verify the reading first: the overheat warning triggers at 107°C (225°F) and normal operation stays below 95°C (203°F), page 723. Blow out the radiator and oil cooler cores from the fan side, check fan blades for cracks and even shroud clearance, then inspect the air cleaner filter for restriction.
Manual Section: Electrical System p. 723Engine cranks slowly or clicks once and won't fire after sitting overnight
Clean both battery terminals down to bright metal and tighten the clamps; a loose ground kills cranking speed before anything else does. Trace the engine starting circuit on the wiring diagram, page 658, wiggle-testing each connector for corrosion. If cranking is strong, drain the water separator and confirm fuel; the tank holds 400 liters.
