Wrenching on a Doosan DX340LC? This 832-page Doosan DX340LC Shop Manual PDF (OEM #K1009684AE) walks you through the whole track excavator, and the same factory procedures cover the DX300LC, DX350LC, DX420LC, and DX480LC. Open to the hydraulic troubleshooting section and you get main relief pressure tests, actuator speed checks, travel and swing speed tests, and cylinder performance standards. Factory hydraulic schematics, the complete electrical schematic, and page after page of standard torque tables back up teardown steps for the swing motor, travel motor, main pump, and main control valve. Check maximum output torque at 2,100 kg•m (15,189 ft lb), and snug small worm-drive air cleaner clamps to 0.2-0.3 kg•m. No more chasing hydraulic drift with forum guesses. Bookmarked with a full text layer: search any spec, jump to any section, get back on the sticks.

Doosan DX340LC Common Problems This Manual Covers

Doosan DX340LC travel motor won't rotate, one track dead, metal particles in drain oil

Check the drain oil for metallic particles first; flakes point to internal motor damage, not the brake. Verify system pressure reaches the 330 kg/cm2 (4,694 psi) working pressure listed on page 411. If the brake releases but the track still won't turn, tear the motor down and measure piston to bore clearance; anything over 0.52 mm, spec on page 428, means replace the rotary group.

Manual Section: Travel Motor Troubleshooting p. 391
Swing won't rotate or jerks during rotation, grinding noise from the reduction gearbox

Drain the swing reduction gearbox oil and inspect it for metal flakes; flakes mean worn gears or bearings, not a hydraulic fault. Refill to the level plug and never run it low, heat kills these boxes fast. If rotation stays weak, confirm the drive still delivers its rated 2,100 kg•m (15,189 ft lb) output torque, spec on page 184.

Manual Section: Swing Reduction Gear Troubleshooting p. 184
All hydraulic functions slow and weak, pump whines under load once oil warms up

Test main relief pressure before touching the pump: 330 kg/cm2 normal, 350 kg/cm2 in pressure-up mode, spec on page 72, using the procedure starting on page 269. Check the reservoir level; the tank holds 206 liters. A whining pump is usually cavitation, so inspect the suction line and fittings for air leaks and tighten or reseal them.

Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting p. 269
Hydraulic oil overheating and return filter clogged warning after a few hours of digging

Replace the return filter element; the warning trips once restriction passes 1.50 kg/cm2 (21 psi), spec on page 702. Swap the pilot filter while you're in there, it flags at 1 kg/cm2 (14 psi) per page 703. Then blow out the oil cooler fins and check fan belt tension; a slipping belt cooks hydraulic oil fast.

Manual Section: Electrical System Troubleshooting p. 702
Black smoke and power loss uphill, air cleaner clogged warning keeps coming back

Remove the air cleaner element and replace it instead of blowing it out if the pleats look oily or torn. Reinstall with the worm drive clamp torqued to 0.2 - 0.3 kg•m (20 - 30 in lb) for clamps under 44 mm, spec on page 110. A loose or overtightened clamp leaks dust straight into the turbo.

Manual Section: General Maintenance p. 110
