Doosan DX340LC, DX300LC Common Problems This Manual Covers
Doosan DX340LC hydraulic system slow and weak, low digging force, boom and bucket struggle under load
Check main relief pressure first; a DX340LC should hold 330 kg/cm³ normal and 350 kg/cm³ in pressure up mode, spec on page 74. If pressure sags, adjust or replace the main relief valve and torque it to 7.95 - 8.97 kg•m (58 - 65 ft lb) per page 611. Sample suction oil for contamination before condemning the pump.
Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting p. 74One travel motor barely moves, travel jerky or machine pulls to one side
Check travel motor drain oil for metal flake before teardown; contamination means the rotary group or reduction gear is failing. Confirm working pressure of 330 kg/cm³ at the motor, page 443. During rebuild, replace the rotary group if piston to bore clearance exceeds 0.52 mm (page 462), then torque the socket bolts to 4400 kgf•cm per page 471.
Manual Section: Travel Motor Troubleshooting p. 443Swing motor grinding noise, upper structure coasts past target or drifts on slopes
Drain gear oil from the swing reduction and check for metal particles. Test the motor relief valve against its 270 kg/cm³ (3,840 psi) cracking pressure on page 396; replace a weak valve and torque it to 1700 - 1900 kg•cm (123 - 137 ft lb). Verify the parking brake releases fully before condemning the motor itself.
Manual Section: Swing Motor Troubleshooting p. 396Tracks keep coming loose and throwing off on slopes, or run tight and squeal
Measure track sag between the carrier roller and the grousers. Adjust the tensioner until sag reads 330 - 360 mm (13.0 - 14.17 in) for normal terrain per page 225; run 360 - 410 mm in mud and 410 mm on gravel, rock, sand or snow. Inspect the idler and adjuster seal for grease leaks while you are in there.
Manual Section: Lower Structure and Chassis p. 225Air conditioner blows warm air and compressor short cycles during hot weather operation
Verify compressor clutch engagement and belt condition first. Connect manifold gauges and compare high and low side readings; erratic pressure usually means low charge or air in the system. Recover, evacuate, and recharge by weight: the DX340LC takes 800 grams of R134a, listed on page 791. Check the DX300LC charge decal before filling that model.
Manual Section: Air Conditioner Troubleshooting p. 791Frequently Asked Questions
What is the track tension adjustment procedure for a DX340LC?
To check track tension, jack up one side of the excavator and place blocking under the frame. Measure the distance (A) between the bottom of the side frame and the top of the lowest crawler shoe. For normal terrain, the distance should be 330 - 360 mm (13.0 - 14.17 in). Adjust tension using the grease fitting in the middle of each side frame. p. 85
What is the hydraulic pressure setting for a Doosan DX340LC?
The main relief pressure for the DX340LC is 330 kg/cm³ (4,689 psi) for normal operation. When the "Pressure Up" function is engaged, the pressure increases to 350 kg/cm³ (4,970 psi). p. 74
What are the replacement specifications for the Main relief valve assembly?
The main relief valve should be replaced as an assembly. When installing, tighten the plug (1, width across flats: 32 mm) to a torque of 7.95 - 8.97 kg•m (58 - 65 ft lb). p. 611
What is the fuel tank capacity for the DX340LC?
The fuel tank capacity for the DX340LC is 550 liters (145 U.S. gal). p. 147
What is the tightening torque for the counterweight mounting bolts on a DX340LC?
The mounting bolts for the counterweight on a DX340LC must be torqued to 250 kg•m (1,807 ft lb). p. 140
