Part of the New Holland Repair Manuals.
Bearing clearances and cylinder head torque phases for the 667TA series come from one place: New Holland's 150 page repair manual, OEM 87519804 NA, covering six engine variants. Common rail injection, EGR, lubrication and cooling each get a chapter in the 667TA series repair manual PDF, and the electrical section maps component locations and sensor cabling pinouts. A third of the book covers the bench overhaul: crankcase checks, crankshaft and flywheel, valve seats and guides, then ring installation and valve timing. Fuel holds at a constant 5 bars (72 psi) off the low pressure regulator valve, and your M12x1.75x70 head bolts come up to 45 to 55 Nm, then a further 90 degrees. Some rebuilds happen at night with no one left to call. Bookmarks land you on valve timing or the torque tables in seconds, and a search term pulls the spec you need before the head goes back on.

New Holland 667TA Series Common Problems This Manual Covers
New Holland 667TA engine won't start or cranks slowly, no fuel pressure at the rail
Check the battery terminals and starter circuit first, then move to the fuel side. Bleed air from the low pressure circuit and confirm the regulator valve holds a steady 5 bars (72 psi.) as described on page 59. Work the troubleshooting flowcharts starting on page 10 before condemning the starter motor.
Manual Section: Diagnostics p. 10Rough idle and erratic running, injector return flow looks excessive during a backflow test
Test return flow with clear lines on each injector. Any injector dumping more than 80 ml. (2.7 oz.) per minute, the figure given on page 89, has internal leakage and a bad needle to seat coupling. Replace it, fit new O-ring seals, and torque the injector supply connector nut to 45 to 50 Nm (33.2 to 36.9 lb.-ft.).
Manual Section: Electrical Components and Diagnostics p. 89Engine lacks power under load, smokes, and surges after a fuel filter change
Inspect the air filter element and replace it if loaded, then pull the fuel filter and look for water and debris. Spin the new filter on and tighten 3/4 of a turn after the gasket makes contact, per page 140. Purge air from the low pressure lines and reseat the line clamps so the tube is not pinched or distorted.
Manual Section: Charging and Start-Up p. 140Low oil pressure on a hot engine, gauge drops at idle after a rebuild
Measure pressure with a mechanical gauge at the main gallery. Hot idle should read 1.2 bar and peak rpm should hold 3.8 bar, both listed on page 26. Below that, pull the pan and measure main and rod bearing clearance before blaming the pump. Refill to 17 litres on the EEG and EEC, sump plus filter.
Manual Section: Engine Lubrication and Cooling Systems p. 26Head gasket weeping coolant into a cylinder, compression low on two adjacent holes
Remove the head and check the deck for flexing and twisting using the procedures around page 90. Always fit new bolts. Torque the first phase to 30 to 40 Nm on the 12x1.75x130 mm bolts or 50 to 60 Nm on the 150 mm bolts, then two more phases of 90 degrees plus or minus 5 degrees in the sequence shown on page 131.
Manual Section: Engine Reassembly and Final Adjustments p. 131Valve train clatter at idle and lost power after a top end job
Set the engine on the timing marks and measure lash with a feeler gauge on a cold engine. Adjust intake clearance to 0.20 to 0.30 mm, the range given on page 134. Recheck every valve after the crank has been turned two full revolutions, and verify the injector fastening bolts are still at 7.7 to 9.3 Nm before the cover goes back on.

What are the cylinder head bolt torque specs for a New Holland 667TA Series engine?
The cylinder head fastening bolts are tightened in three phases. The first phase for M12x1.75x70 bolts is 45 to 55 Nm (33.2 to 40.6 lb.-ft.), for M12x1.75x140 bolts is 35 to 45 Nm (25.8 to 33.2 lb.-ft.), and for M12x1.75x180 bolts is 65 to 75 Nm (47.9 to 55.3 lb.-ft.). The second phase requires an additional 90 degrees of rotation, and the third phase requires another 90 degrees for the 140 and 180 mm bolts. p. 32
What are the fuel filter replacement specs for a New Holland 667TA Series engine?
When replacing the fuel filter, screw it onto the bracket until the gasket makes contact, then tighten it an additional 3/4 of a turn. This procedure applies to all engines except for the 667TA/EEG and 667TA/EEC models. p. 124
What is the correct intake and exhaust valve clearance on a New Holland 667TA Series engine?
The working clearance for intake valves is 0.20 to 0.30 mm (0.008 to 0.012 in.), and for exhaust valves, it is 0.46 to 0.56 mm (0.18 to 0.022 in.). p. 134
What is the engine sump and filter oil capacity on a New Holland 667TA Series engine?
The oil capacity for the engine sump plus the filter is 17 litres (18 qt.) for the 667TA/EEG and 667TA/EEC engines, and 19 litres (20 qt.) for the other models. p. 26
What is the injection pressure range for the common rail system on a New Holland 667TA Series engine?
The rail delivery pressure is modulated between 250 and 1600 bars (3625 to 23206 psi.) by the EDC7UC31 control unit, depending on the engine model and power rating. p. 68
