New Holland CX720–CX880 Series Common Problems This Manual Covers
Machine will not move in either direction on the hydrostatic drive
Work through the hydrostatic troubleshooting table in the Gearbox, Hydrostatic Drive and Clutches section. First make sure the control cable is connected. Then check the hydrostatic oil level and fill the reservoir. If air has got into the system, find and repair the leak. If you are exceeding relief valve pressure, shift to a lower gear.

Start with the batteries and recharge them if they are low. Then check the starter and replace it if it is not doing its job. If the lift pump will not prime because air is getting in, check the seal on the intake branch and the pressure at the filter inlet. Replace a clogged fuel filter or pre-filter. The Engine troubleshooting table goes through these checks.

The straw chopper troubleshooting in the Straw Chopper, Spreader and Unloading section lists four causes. For dull knives, sharpen or replace the counter knives, and replace or turn the rotor knives. Slack belts need their tension adjusted. Replace wrong belts with the correct ones. Finally, adjust the chopper to suit the crop you are cutting.

On CX720 to CX820 with the NH 7.5 L mechanical engine, this code means the alternator RPM sensor (G-01) circuit is shorted to a higher than normal voltage. The cause is wiring shorted to 12 volts or a controller failure. Read the sensor voltage on the InfoView monitor: normal is 4.6 volts with no metal and 6.6 volts with metal. Disconnect terminal R. If the voltage drops to 7.3 - 9.0 volts, the short is in the alternator, so repair it. The Engine section covers this code.

The main pump should deliver at least 114 Ltr/min (30 US gal/min) at rated speed. Standby is 21 bar (305 psi) and maximum system pressure is 207 bar (3000 psi). Steering runs at 186 bar (2700 psi) with 36 Ltr/min (9.5 US gal/min) to the steering motor. The secondary system gives at least 43 Ltr/min (11.36 US gal/min), regulated at 25 bar (363 psi). What are the concave, cleaning fan and straw chopper settings for the New Holland CX720–CX880 Series combine?
The small grain concave has wire distances of 14 mm (9/16 in) and 10 mm (3/8 in), with 3.5 mm (9/64 in) wire and 16 bars. The maize concave has 26 mm (1-3/128 in) and 10 mm (3/8 in) spacing, with 6 mm (1/4 in) wire and 12 bars.
