Part of the Case Repair Manuals.
All 85 pages of this Case Windrower Service Manual (OEM #GSS-1384-1) zero in on the 210, 225, 230, 275, and 375 models — chassis teardown to electrical diagnostics, nothing left out. Inside: full exploded views covering the propulsion drive variator, planetary drive units, hydrostatic power steering, dual auger hay conditioners, and knife drive platforms, plus wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics for every major system. Torque tables cover the full bolt spectrum by type and diameter; hydraulic fitting data runs from tube nuts through O-ring boss plugs with thread size and torque side by side. Set the hydrostatic charge pressure between 190 and 210 psi at neutral, and torque your 1/4-inch hydraulic tube nuts to 10-20 ft-lbs — factory numbers, not guesses. Your windrower is sitting in the field. Grab the bookmarked PDF, search any spec by keyword, and pull it up right where you're working.

Case 210/225/230/275/375 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Case 210 225 230 275 375 windrower header won't lift, hydraulic pump pressure low after extended use
Check hydraulic fluid level and condition first. Connect a flo-rater and verify pump output; charge pressure at neutral should be 190-210 psi above case pressure at 2500 engine rpm (page 60). If pressure is below spec, inspect the system relief valve per the troubleshooting chart, then pull the pump for internal wear inspection.
Manual Section: Hydraulic System (Diagnosis & Repair)Engine shuts down suddenly under heavy load in tall grass, no warning lights p. 81
Check the primary fuel filter for clogging; replace if it shows visible contamination or more than 500 hours of service. Inspect supply lines for kinks between tank and injection pump. Verify the cranking motor draws within rated amperage under load using the specification chart on page 81. Clean injector inlet screens if fuel pressure drops under operating load.
Manual Section: ElectricalDrive belt snaps repeatedly each season, variator pulley glazed, windrowing pattern uneven p. 7
Remove the belt guard and inspect the variator pulley for flat spots, glazed grooves, and bearing play before installing a new belt. Check belt alignment across all sheaves. Torque pulley mounting fasteners to the correct grade specification using the standard bolt torque chart on page 7. Replace the tensioner assembly if any radial wobble is present in the pulley bearing.
Manual Section: Propulsion Drive Variator ServiceHydrostatic drive drifts off neutral or responds sluggishly, machine creeps at standstill
Verify neutral position of the hydrostatic drive speed control lever using the adjustment procedure. Connect a pressure gauge and check charge pressure at neutral; it should read 190-210 psi above case pressure at 2500 engine rpm (page 60). If lever adjustment does not resolve creep, inspect the hydrostatic pump for internal bypass.
Manual Section: Controls Adjustment (Engine Throttle, Hydrostatic Drive Lever)Excessive vibration through the frame at operating speed, flywheel or drive pulley wobbles
Check flywheel run-out using a dial indicator (listed in special service tools on page 6) while rotating the flywheel by hand. Inspect the drive pulley hub for cracks, wear, and loose fasteners. Torque all pulley mounting hardware to the correct grade using the standard bolt torque chart on page 7. Replace the flywheel if total indicated run-out exceeds service limits.
Manual Section: Flywheel and Drive Pulley ServiceFrequently Asked Questions
What are the recommended hydrostatic drive service intervals on the Case 210, 225, 230, 275, or 375 windrower?
For the hydrostatic drive system, the filter should be replaced after the first 25 hours of use. Subsequent replacements are recommended after 100 hours, and then every 300 hours thereafter. See page 60 for the full hydrostatic drive service procedure.
What fluids does the Case 210, 225, 230, 275, 375 windrower require?
For lubricating all thread surfaces when applying torque, SAE-30 engine oil is recommended. When reassembling hydraulic components, moving parts should be thoroughly lubricated with clean Hy-Tran fluid. Standard torque data for nuts and bolts is on page 7.
Why won't the windrower header lift, and how do I check hydraulic pressure?
Check hydraulic fluid level and condition first. Connect a flo-rater and verify pump output; charge pressure at neutral should be 190-210 psi above case pressure at 2500 engine rpm (page 60). If pressure is below spec, inspect the system relief valve per the troubleshooting chart, then pull the pump for internal wear inspection.
Why do drive belts snap repeatedly on the Case 210, 225, 230, 275, or 375 windrower?
Remove the belt guard and inspect the variator pulley for flat spots, glazed grooves, and bearing play before installing a new belt. Check belt alignment across all sheaves. Torque pulley mounting fasteners to the correct grade using the standard bolt torque chart on page 7. Replace the tensioner assembly if any radial wobble is present in the pulley bearing.
