Remove the belt guard and inspect the variator pulley for flat spots, glazed grooves, and bearing play before installing a new belt. Check belt alignment across all sheaves. Torque pulley mounting fasteners to the correct grade specification using the standard bolt torque chart on page 7. Replace the tensioner assembly if any radial wobble is present in the pulley bearing.

Check flywheel run-out using a dial indicator (listed in special service tools on page 6) while rotating the flywheel by hand. Inspect the drive pulley hub for cracks, wear, and loose fasteners.
