Part of the Case Repair Manuals.
When a Case skid steer will not track straight, the loader arm refuses to lift or the cluster starts a 30 second shutdown countdown, this book walks the checks in order, from charge pressure to the code procedure. It is the factory service manual 47851948 for the Alpha Series Tier 4B Final SR210, SR240, SV280 skid steers and TR270, TR310 compact track loaders.
It covers engine removal and fluids, the hydrostatic drive with pump pressure tests and decontaminating, hydraulic systems with schematic frames, axles and chain drive, tracks, climate control, the complete electrical system with schematic sheets and harness views, and a fault code section from page 1176 to 2014 with cause, failure modes and solution steps for each code. Capacities, standard torque tables and fold out electrical and hydraulic schematics are included.

Case SR210 to TR310 Series Common Problems This Manual Covers
Machine does not track straight
If it steers more than 1.8 m (6 ft) off centerline in 30.5 m (100 ft) forward or 15.2 m (50 ft) backward, check throttle at high idle, tires, joystick calibration, kinked hoses, parking brake release and charge pressure, drive chain, axle bearings, pressure limiter valves and pump servos.
Manual Section: Hydrostatic transmission, Troubleshooting p. 312Loader arm will not raise
Check the OPERATE button, lap bar, seat switch, override valve, cab door switch, joystick calibration with the EST, the loader pilot interlock solenoid, the port lock solenoid and the charge pressure at the main control valve.
Manual Section: Front loader arm hydraulic system, Troubleshooting p. 518All hydraulics disabled with code 1903
The UCM sees less than 9 V on CN1A pin 20. Check battery and charging, harness, UCM and alternator connections and grounds, then measure alternator output, which should be approximately 14.8 V.
Manual Section: Fault codes, 1903 VCM Supply Voltage Below Operational Limit p. 126130 second countdown and engine shutdown
The instrument cluster detected a critical machine error which resulted in an engine shutdown. Scan the control modules for diagnostic trouble codes to find which module logged the error that stopped the engine.
Manual Section: Warning indicators, alarms, and instruments, Troubleshooting p. 1133REGEN FAIL on the instrument cluster
The Engine Control Unit concluded that the machine is not ready for a regeneration of the Diesel Particulate Filter. Bring the machine to operating temperatures, place the hand and foot throttle in the idle position, disable all hydraulics and wait for REGEN IdLE to appear on the instrument cluster.
Manual Section: Warning indicators, alarms, and instruments, Troubleshooting p. 1133Repeat failure after hydrostatic pump or motor replacement
Any contamination stays in the closed loop and will damage the remaining components. Remove the failed pump and motor, clean them, flush the hoses and tubes with hot, soapy water, change the hydraulic oil filter, install the portable filter caddy CAS10162A and consider flushing the oil cooler, whose passages can trap contamination.
Manual Section: Hydrostatic transmission, Decontaminating p. 311Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calibrate the joysticks?
On electro hydraulic machines the joysticks are calibrated with the Electronic Service Tool (EST). On mechanically controlled machines the book has you inspect the linkage between the joysticks and the hydrostatic pumps instead. p. 312
What has to be done after replacing the Lambda sensor?
If Lambda sensor B-9123 is replaced, run the Replacement of the Lambda Sensor, Reset ECU Data procedure with the Electronic Service Tool before the machine goes back to work. p. 1559
How do I clean the hydrostatic system after a pump or motor failure?
Remove the failed pump and motor, clean them inside and out, flush hoses and tubes with hot soapy water and let them dry, drain and inspect the hydraulic oil, change the hydraulic oil filter and run the portable filter caddy CAS10162A. The oil cooler may need flushing too. p. 311
When can a Diagnostic Trouble Code be erased?
Once the checks in the code procedure show no damage and normal display readings, the book says to erase the Diagnostic Trouble Code and continue operation. p. 1240
Why does a controller drop off the CAN bus?
Loss of power or ground, or controller faults. A controller whose error history fills goes bus off and stops transmitting. That error history is erased and reset at zero when the controller is deactivated. p. 1172
What torque does the charge pressure relief valve take on the Case SR210 to TR310 Series?
109 N·m (80 lb ft) on the hydrostatic pump charge pressure relief valve. p. 166
What do the EH response settings mean on the Case SR210 to TR310 Series?
High is quick response to control lever movement, Med-2 medium/quick, Med-1 medium/slow and Low slow. DRV1 to DRV3 and LDR1 to LDR3 run from aggressive to smooth for drive and loader arm. p. 1144
