Hyundai HL760 Common Problems This Manual Covers

Hyundai HL760 loader hydraulics slow and weak, boom struggles to raise or bucket won't curl

Check the hydraulic oil level and top off before chasing anything else. Inspect the suction strainer and suction lines for clogging or loose clamps pulling in air. Test main relief pressure against the 200 kg/cm2 spec on page 369; if the pump can't hit that number with warm oil, suspect internal pump wear.

Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting p. 369
Hydraulic oil foaming in the tank, pump whines and functions get jerky after warmup

Tighten every suction-side fitting and hose clamp before condemning the pump; upstream air leaks cause most foaming. Verify oil level and condition, milky oil means water contamination. Replace the suction-side O-rings, then retorque the main pump housing bolts to the chart value kg·m using the torque chart on page 18.

Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting p. 369
Transmission pressure low, machine loses drive in one gear or slips under load uphill

Verify transmission oil level first; the system holds 28 L and low oil starves the clutch packs. Run a stall test and compare against the 2170 to 2310 rpm spec on page 76. Follow the pressure checks starting, then inspect clutch pistons and seals; plate clearance should measure 2.1 mm.

Manual Section: Transmission Troubleshooting p. 76
Steering feels weak and erratic, system won't build pressure at full lock

Check steering pressure at the priority valve before pulling the steering unit. Inspect the priority valve and steering valve using the steering section starting on page 246, and look for leakage past the cushion valve. If you remove the priority valve during testing, retorque its mounting bolts to 2.5 kg·m on reassembly.

Manual Section: Steering System Troubleshooting p. 246
Growling noise from front axle under load, gets louder in tight turns

Drain the axle oil and check for metal flake before tearing anything down. Measure bevel gear backlash against the standard on page 170. Reset backlash if it's out of range, then torque the differential cap screws and ring gear screws to the values in the axle tightening-torque chart.

Manual Section: Power Train System p. 170

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reset the transmission fault code on a Hyundai HL760?

To eliminate a lock caused by system faults, shift the range shift lever through the NEUTRAL position. This procedure also applies to the up-shift interlock after an inductive sensor failure. p. 63

What are the replacement specifications for the hydraulic pump?

The main hydraulic pump is a fixed displacement gear type pump with a maximum delivery pressure of 150 kg/cm² (2130 psi). When reassembling, the bolts should be tightened to a torque of 5.0 ± 0.3 kgf·m (36.2 ± 2.2 lbf·ft). p. 203

What is the correct tightening torque for the engine mounting bolts?

The engine mounting bolts and nuts (size M12 x 1.25) should be tightened to a torque of 13.3 ± 2.7 kg·m (96.2 ± 19.5 lb·ft). p. 18

What is the procedure for bleeding the hydraulic brake system?

Two people are required to bleed the brake system. Put a clear plastic tube on the bleed screw (B) to route fluid to a container (A), push and hold the brake pedal, and open the bleed screw on the differential and axle assembly until hydraulic oil flows free of air. Repeat this for each bleed screw. p. 234

What is the recommended oil for the hydraulic tank and what is its capacity?

The hydraulic tank capacity is 199 liters (52.6 U.S. gal) for the tank and 294 liters (77.7 U.S. gal) for the total system. Recommended lubricants include ISO VG 32, ISO VG 46, or ISO VG 68 depending on the ambient temperature. p. 21

How quickly can I access this Hyundai HL760 manual after buying?

All 481 pages arrive as one searchable PDF at checkout. Read it at the desk, then take the phone out to the machine.

Am I free to print this Hyundai HL760 Service Manual?

Yes. No DRM, nothing blocks printing, so run off the pages you need on whatever printer you have.
