Battery goes dead after sitting a few days, cranks slower each start
Clean both battery terminals and load-test the battery before buying a new one; a green corroded clamp mimics a dead battery. Check alternator belt tension, then run the charging circuit diagnosis in the electrical section starting on page 233. If the battery has been run dry, note it holds roughly 1.9 L (2.0 qt) of electrolyte when refilling.
