Part of the Kubota Repair Manuals.
Kubota's KX36-3, KX41-3S, KX41-3V service manual PDF (OEM 97899-60860) takes all three excavators down to the last seal across 496 pages, from front attachment and undercarriage through the D902-E and D782-B engines to the electrical harness. Hydraulics take up nearly half the book: troubleshooting tables, pressure testing, and disassembly and reassembly work, backed by hydraulic schematics that trace each circuit from pump to cylinder. When a fault hides in the Kubota Intelligent Control System, the wiring diagrams and harness routing let you follow it wire by wire. Set P1 and P2 main relief at 20.6 MPa on a KX36-3 or 21.6 MPa on the other two, and torque track roller mounting bolts to 103 to 117.7 N·m. A wrong relief setting can cost you a pump. The PDF arrives bookmarked and text-searchable, so print the chapters you need and let them take the grease on the bench.

Kubota KX36-3, KX41-3S, KX41-3V Common Problems This Manual Covers
Kubota KX36-3 boom, arm and travel functions slow and weak with main relief pressure reading below spec
Test main relief pressure at P1 and P2 using the hydraulic troubleshooting procedures. On the KX36-3, the gauge should read 20.6 MPa (+1.0/-0.5 MPa) per page 259. If it reads low, remove the main relief valve and bench set it to 20.6 MPa following page 258 before you go after the pump.
Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting p. 259Hydraulic motor slow to respond, rotating unstably, or not turning at all with abnormal noise
Inspect the motor body and fittings for oil leakage and listen for abnormal noise while it runs. Work through the Hydraulic Motor Troubleshooting chart for no rotation, slow response, unstable rotation and reverse rotation. Test traveling and swivel performance using the hydraulic troubleshooting procedures to confirm whether the fault is in the motor or the circuit feeding it.
Manual Section: Hydraulic Motor TroubleshootingPilot control circuit secondary pressure fails to rise or reads unstable at the pilot valve
Measure pilot valve secondary pressure and note whether it fails to rise, swings unstable, or reads too high. Work through the Pilot Valve Troubleshooting chart for your version (PP or EU), checking for abnormal pilot unit operation and visible defects on the valve. Then confirm how the equipment responds using the hydraulic troubleshooting procedures.
Manual Section: Pilot Valve Troubleshooting (PP version)D902-E engine oil pressure reading low or engine running overheated during operation
Check the oil level first and refill to the 3.7 L D902-E capacity listed on page 85 if it is low. Then work through the D902-E engine troubleshooting chart for low oil pressure, overheating and excessive lubricant oil consumption. Check for fuel or water mixed in the lubricant oil before you put the machine back to work.
Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting (D902-E) p. 85Track roller mounting bolts working loose on the undercarriage with visible roller movement
Inspect each track roller on the undercarriage for movement at its mount and for missing or backed-out bolts. Clean the threads and seats, then torque the track roller mounting bolts to 103 to 117.7 N·m (75.9 to 86.8 ft·lbf) per page 64. Work one roller at a time and check the rollers on the opposite track as well.
Manual Section: Machine Body p. 64Starter does not rotate when the key is turned to the start position
Check the fuses and slow-blow fuse first, then make sure the battery terminals are tight. Measure the battery: the minimum voltage between the terminals must be 10.5 V at the start position, otherwise charge or replace the battery. Then check that the starter 50 terminal sees 9 V or over at the start position and work through the electrical components troubleshooting chart on page 233.
