Part of the Kubota Repair Manuals.
This is the Kubota Workshop Manual for the RTV-XG850 and RTV-XG850 EVAP utility vehicles, a 392 page factory service document. It covers machines powered by the GZ8510 and GZ8510-1 gasoline engines with electronic fuel injection.Inside you get the full repair chain: the engine with its multi point injection and sensors, the CVT transaxle and range gear shift, suspension, brakes with automatic adjustment, the front axle and limited slip differential, electronic power steering, and the electrical system with its starting, charging, lighting and gauge circuits. Tightening torques, a maintenance check list, and detailed mechanism descriptions run section by section. With this PDF you can read the EFI sensors correctly, service the CVT and drivetrain, and repair steering or electrical faults to Kubota figures instead of guessing. It is a searchable download you can print or keep on a phone, tablet or laptop right beside the machine.

Kubota RTV-XG850, RTV-XG850 EVAP Common Problems This Manual Covers
CVT belt slip or wear
Weak acceleration, belt smell, or lost top speed on the RTV point to a worn CVT belt or clutch surfaces. The Transmission section documents the CVT structure, the range gear shift, and gives the belt width service limit for judging wear.
Manual Section: Transmission p. 206Hard starting or rough running EFI
Because this engine uses electronic fuel injection, a bad throttle position, TMAP, O2 or coolant temperature sensor can cause hard starts and stumble. The Engine section explains the multi point injection system and the function of each sensor for diagnosis.
Manual Section: Engine p. 111Weak or dragging brakes
A soft pedal or a brake that will not release traces to the master cylinder, the automatic adjuster, or worn friction parts. The Brakes section outlines the travelling brake structure, automatic brake adjustment, master cylinder and parking brake.
Manual Section: Brakes p. 264Electronic power steering fault
Heavy steering, sudden loss of assist, or a warning light usually means the electronic power steering unit or its inputs rather than the mechanical linkage. The Steering section covers the structure of the electronic power steering system.
Manual Section: Steering p. 322No start or dead electrical
No crank, no gauge, or charging trouble points to the key switch, starter solenoid, neutral safety switch, or the charge coil and regulator. The Electrical System section maps the starting, charging and gauge circuits and the location of each component.
Manual Section: Electrical System p. 337Front differential bind or slip
Poor traction, tight turning, or clunking at the front can come from the limited slip differential or front drive. The Front Axle section covers the structure and operation of the limited slip differential and the front axle.
Manual Section: Front Axle p. 299Frequently Asked Questions
