How is troubleshooting laid out? I don't want a parts book dressed up as a service manual.
It is not a parts book. Every major system has symptom tables: the problem you see in the field, the possible causes, and the correction, each cross-referenced to a numbered testing procedure. You work from the symptom down to the component with a meter or gauge in hand.
Does it cover the hydrostatic transmission and the 2WD-4WD system, or just the gearbox?
Both. The Power Train section covers the mechanical transmission, the hydrostatic transmission and the primary process drive. The Travelling section handles the 2WD-4WD hydrostatic system separately, along with front and rear axles, hydraulic steering and both service and parking brakes. p. 717
Which models and years does this apply to?
