It is organised the CNH way, by FUNCTION rather than by assembly, and knowing that is half of using it: Distribution Systems covers the hydraulic and pneumatic power systems and then the electrical power system, which is the single largest chapter in the book; Power Production is the engine, its coolant and starting systems; Power Train covers the mechanical and hydrostatic transmissions and the process drive; Travelling covers front and rear axles, the 2WD-4WD hydrostatic system, hydraulic steering and the service and parking brakes; then Body and Structure, Frame Positioning, Tool Positioning and Crop Processing - feeding, reel and header feeding, cleaning, the tailings return system and storing.
The manual is built around symptom tables: problem, possible cause and correction, each correction pointing at a numbered testing procedure, with a fault-code section behind them. That is how it diagnoses - it does not print schematic sheets.
