Part of the New Holland Repair Manuals.
The hydro won't pull the combine up the headland, or the header won't hold height, and the crop is ready now. This New Holland service manual, part number 51431545, covers the CX5.80, CX5.90, CX5.90 Laterale, CX5.90 Hillside, CX6.80, CX6.90 and CX6.90 Laterale straw-walker combines.
It covers the main gearbox, final drives, hydrostatic pump and brakes, then the threshing drum, concave, straw walkers, cleaning shoe and unloading auger. Electrical schematic sheets and fault codes by control module make up the largest part of the book. Engine repair is not in it, and the book says so.

New Holland CX5.80–CX6.90 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Machine will not operate in either direction
The hydrostatic transmission troubleshooting table in the Hydrostatic Drive and Brakes section lists low hydrostatic oil level, a blocked hydrostatic filter and air in the system among the causes. For the blocked filter, the printed correction is to replace the filter. The same section covers the reservoir and cooler, plus the pump and motor components.
Manual Section: Hydrostatic transmission - Troubleshooting p. 502Ground travel speed erratic
The hydrostatic transmission troubleshooting chart in the Hydrostatic Drive and Brakes section lists low oil level, a blocked oil filter element and exceeding relief valve pressure among the causes of erratic ground speed. For the blocked element, the correction printed there is to change the filter element. The hydrostatic schemas show how that circuit is laid out.
Manual Section: Hydrostatic transmission - Troubleshooting p. 502Hydrostatic oil temperature too high
When the hydro oil runs too hot, the troubleshooting chart in the Hydrostatic Drive and Brakes section lists low oil level, a blocked oil cooler and a blocked inlet filter among the causes. For the blocked oil cooler, the printed correction is to clean or replace it as required. Reservoir and cooler coverage is in the same section.
Manual Section: Hydrostatic drive - Hydrostatic transmission p. 503Hydrostatic unit surges
The Hydrostatic Drive and Brakes troubleshooting chart lists air in the system, low hydrostatic oil and a blocked hydrostatic filter among the causes of a surging unit, and also a contaminated system. For a contaminated system, the printed correction is to flush the system. That section also covers the pump and motor components and the rear hydrostatic transmission.

Which combines does the New Holland CX5.80-CX6.90 service manual cover?
It covers the CX5.80, CX5.90, CX5.90 Laterale, CX5.90 Hillside, CX6.80, CX6.90 and CX6.90 Laterale straw-walker combines. This is CNH part number 51431545, the January 2018 English edition. The book does not print serial number ranges. It has no engine repair information. It does cover SCR exhaust treatment, engine removal and installation, and the engine wiring sheets. p. 1
What is the wheel nut torque on the New Holland CX5.80-CX6.90 combines?
Wheel nuts on every listed model except the CX5.90 Hillside take 710 - 790 N·m (523.7 - 582.7 lb ft). The CX5.90 Hillside wheel nuts get 610 - 732 N·m (449.9 - 539.9 lb ft). The Hillside's final drive to traction beam bolts take 635 - 705 N·m (468.4 - 520.0 lb ft). You'll find these in the final drives chapter, next to the rear axle work. p. 293
What are the hydraulic pump pressure and flow figures for the New Holland CX combines?
The main hydraulic pump is rated at a maximum of 280 bar (4061 psi) and 48 l/min (12.7 gal/min). The steering circuit pump delivers a maximum of 12 l/min (3.2 gal/min). On the CX5.90 Laterale and CX6.90 Laterale, the Laterale hydraulic pump is rated at 250 bar (3625.0 psi) and 66.3 l/min (17.51 gal/min). The book has hydraulic schemas for the standard, Laterale and Hillside machines. p. 638
What hydrostatic pump displacement and charge pressure does the book give?
The hydrostatic pump displaces 115 cc/rev on the CX5.80 and CX5.90. The CX5.90 Hillside, CX5.90 Laterale, CX6.80, CX6.90 and CX6.90 Laterale run 130 cc/rev. Charge pump pressure is 32 bar (464.0 psi). After towing, the HPRV plugs are torqued to 110 N·m (81 lb ft). The main hydrostatic high pressure line bolts take 130 N·m (95.9 lb ft). p. 401
Does the New Holland CX5.80-CX6.90 service manual include wiring diagrams, hydraulic schemas and fault codes?
Yes. The electrical schematic sheets come with legends, for example SH04 Power distribution - Keyswitch, SH52 CAN 1 network and SH306 Engine T4B 1. Connector component diagrams give pin assignments, wire numbers and colors. There are hydraulic schemas for the standard, Laterale and Hillside machines, plus hydrostatic schemas. Fault codes are listed by control module. Examples are ECU DTC 1113 (coolant temperature sensor voltage higher than expected) and UCM E0008-03 (longitudinal inclination sensor). That wiring and fault code material is the largest part of the book. p. 1047
