Put a gauge on the P1 and P2 test ports of an EH27.B and the reading only means something with the factory figure beside it: main relief at 23.0 +0.6 to 0 MPa (3340 psi), listed on page 88.

This New Holland Shop Manual, publication 6-78100 NA, documents the EH27.B hydraulic excavator from serial prefix PV10-27001 with the 3TNV82A-SYB engine. Its 750 pages run from machine dimensions and track shoe types through the hydraulic, electrical and component systems, full disassembly and assembly of the attachments, upper slewing structure and travel system, a dedicated troubleshooting section, and engine work.

New Holland EH27.B Common Problems This Manual Covers

Boom and arm lose lifting power

The arm stalls partway through a lift and the engine bogs, usually because pump output or relief pressure has drifted off spec. The Hydraulic, Electrical, and Component Systems section lays out the pump, relief valves and pilot control circuit so you can tell a worn pump from a stuck relief before anything comes apart.

Manual Section: Hydraulic, Electrical, and Component Systems p. 103
One track lags or stops driving

A machine that crabs to one side under travel is pointing at the travel motor or final drive on that side. The Disassembly and Assembly section covers the travel system down to component level, with the removal and refit sequence you need to get into the drive without damaging seals.

Manual Section: Disassembly and Assembly p. 269
Track tension out of spec

Slack track chain throws shoes and chews idlers and rollers, while over tight track eats the final drive. Standard Specifications and Maintenance gives the track tension measuring procedure and the track shoe types fitted to this excavator, so adjustment is a measured job rather than a guess.

Manual Section: Standard Specifications and Maintenance p. 85
Slew turns slowly or grinds

A swing that hesitates on start, drifts on stop, or rumbles through part of its arc can be the swing motor, the swing bearing, or hydraulic supply to that circuit. The Troubleshooting section works by symptom across the hydraulic and electrical systems so you narrow it down before pulling the upper structure apart.

Manual Section: Troubleshooting p. 477
Bucket pins and bushings knock

Play at the bucket and arm joints shows up as a clunk on direction change and uneven wear on the pin bosses. The Disassembly and Assembly section covers the attachments, including pin and bushing removal and reassembly, with the maintenance standards giving the clearance limits that decide whether a pin is reusable. The pin and bushing clearance tables are in the maintenance standards (page 35).

Manual Section: Disassembly and Assembly p. 269
Engine runs hot on long digs

Steady digging in heat is when a tired cooling system finally shows itself, through a creeping temperature gauge or coolant loss. The Engine section covers the cooling and lubrication systems along with inspection and adjustment, so you can check the engine side properly instead of replacing parts in sequence.

Manual Section: Engine p. 525

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this manual cover my EH27.B?

It is the New Holland Shop Manual for the EH27.B hydraulic excavator, publication number 6-78100 NA, written for machines from serial prefix PV10-27001 with the 3TNV82A-SYB engine. Check the plate on your machine against that prefix and publication number before buying.

What is the main relief valve pressure on the New Holland EH27.B?

The standard value table gives the main relief valve pressure for P1 and P2 as 23.0 +0.6 to 0 MPa (3340 +87 to 0 psi) and for P3 as 23.0 +1.0 to 0 MPa, with the pilot relief valve at 3.5 ± 0.4 MPa (508 ± 58 psi) (page 88). p. 88

Where are the torque specifications?

The Tools chapter inside Standard Specifications and Maintenance carries torque tables for capscrews and nuts, joints and hoses, and sleeve type tube fittings, plus screw and tool sizes and the locking and sealing compounds to use. Engine fastener torques, such as cylinder head and connecting rod bolts, are in the Engine section. p. 59

Is engine work included or engine only referenced?

Engine coverage is full and runs to the end of the book: specifications, inspection and adjustment, disassembly and reassembly, lubrication, cooling, fuel injection pump and turbocharger. Oil pan capacity for the 3TNV82A is 3.6 litres total, 1.2 litres effective. p. 525

Will this New Holland EH27.B Shop Manual download right away?

A single searchable PDF file of 750 pages, downloadable right after payment. Nothing ships, nothing waits in the mail.
