Every one of the 730 pages in this New Holland LB115 Backhoe Loader Service Manual covers the drivetrain stamped on your machine's plates: EA5 engine, Clark-Hurth-T16000 transmission, Danfoss/OSP 160LS steering, and Carraro axles. You get full wiring diagrams for chasing electrical gremlins, hydraulic schematics that trace circuit flow instead of leaving you guessing, and exploded views for the transmission control valve and clutch pack assembly. There's a dedicated error code section for fault diagnosis, plus torque tables and fluid capacity charts pulled straight from the factory data. Set your hydraulic system pressure to 175 bar, or 210 bar on open center configurations, and confirm pump output at 147 liters per minute before you chase a phantom leak. Your backhoe won't wait for a parts guy to call you back. This PDF is bookmarked by system, so you jump straight to transmission, axle, or hydraulics without scrolling through 730 pages first.

New Holland LB115 Common Problems This Manual Covers

New Holland LB115 backhoe arm droops and hydraulic pressure drops when lifting a load

Take system pressure readings using the appropriate gauges per page 5. Pressure test the backhoe lift circuit relief valve using the procedure on page 668, then reset the system relief valve to 210 bar (3043 PSI) as specified on page 674. Examine the lift section of the backhoe control valve assembly for wear and scoring, and reseal the piston and gland if the barrel shows leakage.

Manual Section: Backhoe Control Valve Fault Finding p. 668
Engine overheats after 30 minutes of operation and won't reach normal temperature

Check the thermostat first; it should begin opening at 79-83°C (174-181°F) and be fully open by 93-96°C (199-205°F) per the spec on page 146. Inspect radiator fins for mud and debris packing, then verify water pump condition; torque the water pump-to-cylinder block bolts to 48 N·m if reinstalling. Flush and refill the 24 liter cooling system with fresh coolant.

Manual Section: Cooling System Fault Finding p. 146
Steering becomes stiff or unresponsive, especially when turning sharply

Check steering pump output first: a new pump delivers 18.0 gpm (68.1 lpm) at 175 bar, while output below 14.4 gpm (54.5 lpm) means the pump is worn per page 647. Inspect the steering circuit relief valve, which should hold 176-183 bar, and torque the pump body through bolts to 35.3 N·m (26 ft. lb.) if disassembled. Cross-check symptoms against the wander/surge chart on page 521.

Manual Section: Steering System Fault Finding p. 521
Loader bucket lift is slow or has lost power when curling under load

Pressure test the loader bucket relief valve at the piston end; it should hold a minimum of 160 bar (2300 psi), with up to 190 bar (2753 psi) acceptable per page 673. If pressure is low, examine the lift section of the loader control valve assembly for wear or scoring per page 667, and reseal the piston and gland if the cylinder barrel shows leakage.

Manual Section: Loader Control Valve Fault Finding p. 667
Backhoe swing continues to move after the control lever is returned to neutral

Run the swing circuit relief valve test first; this circuit should hold a minimum of 205 bar (3000 psi) per page 674. If pressure checks out, examine the swing section of the backhoe control valve assembly for wear or scoring per page 669, since return-side spool leakage is the usual culprit. Replace the valve spool if scoring is visible.

Manual Section: Backhoe Control Valve Fault Finding p. 669
