This 898-page New Holland Kobelco service manual (OEM #604.13.477) covers the wheeled excavator family MH2.6 and MH3.6, from swivel joint to gear box. You get full hydraulic schematics for the main control valve and slew device, wiring harnesses mapped through the electrical system section, and a dedicated troubleshooting section splitting hydraulic faults from electrical ones. Open to the filling chart and you'll find the hydraulic tank holds 132L on the MH2.6 versus 155L on the MH3.6, plus braking pressure set at 55 bar across both models. No more guessing which spec applies to which chassis. Every torque value, cylinder removal step, and performance test procedure is bookmarked, so you jump straight from the undercarriage to the front attachment without flipping through pages. Download it, load it on your tablet, and get it running right the first time.

New Holland Kobelco MH2.6, MH3.6 Common Problems This Manual Covers

Front attachment cylinders drift down under load

The boom and arm cylinders carry antidrop valves; oil drop from a cylinder means the movement is no longer controlled by the control valve spool. Page 558 shows the removal sequence — disconnect hoses (T) and the antidrop valve hoses (T2), plugging them so contamination cannot reach the circuit, then inspect the antidrop valve and cylinder seals.

Manual Section: Front Attachment — cylinders and antidrop valve p. 558
Steering feels hard or fails to return

Follow the 'STEERING SYSTEM TROUBLE — flywheel control hard' decision tree on page 798: check whether main pump pressure is normal, then the pressure setting valve; a defective setting valve calls for replacing the power steering valve.

Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting — steering p. 798
Service brakes feel spongy or the accumulator recharges continuously

Compare the circuit against the printed figures on page 67: braking pressure 55 bar, accumulator charge pressure 110 bar, maximum accumulator pressure 140 bar, accumulator model LAV 0.35 (0.35 l) with a 50 bar pre-charge. A pre-charge below spec is the usual cause of a spongy pedal and constant recharging.

Manual Section: Specifications — braking circuit p. 67

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I delete stored fault codes on the MH2.6 / MH3.6?

On the BB-3 display press (F2), then pick the submenu with keys (1), (2) or (3): 'Actual Fault' shows live faults, 'Saved Fault' shows errors stored since the last erasure, and 'Delete Fault' cancels the faults memorized by the control unit. The procedure is printed on page 858 (9-80). p. 858

What are the main hydraulic pump pressure settings?

Page 117 gives both relief settings on the pump block: the pressure-cutting relief valve is set at 330 bar and works on the pump's LS pilot signal, while the maximum pressure relief valve is set at 380 bar and only comes into play if the cutting valve fails. Check them in that order when the machine is down on power. p. 117

How often does the slew reduction unit need servicing?

Page 242 prints the schedule: check and tighten screws after the first 50 hours, check oil level every 150 hours, first oil change at 150 hours, then every 1500 hours or once a year, and grease the slewing ring pinion engagement every 150 hours if required. p. 242

Are electrical diagrams included for the MH2.6 / MH3.6?

Yes. The electrical troubleshooting chapter works from the general electric system diagram attached at the end of Section 8 (see page 806), and the manual covers control-line and wiring harnesses along with component checks. It does not include separate connector pinout tables. p. 806
