New Holland TG215, TG245, TG275, TG305 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Steering takes too much effort
First check whether the front axle is carrying too much load, and reduce it if so. Then inspect the steering column for mechanical interference (Section 41 Chapter 1). Run the steering pressure test and adjust the relief if it is set wrong. For a stuck steering priority spool or broken spring, repair or replace it using Section 35 Chapter 6. If those all check out, repair or replace the steering hand pump.
Manual Section: Hydraulic Schematic Symbols and Hydraulic System Troubleshooting p. 800Blower runs but the A/C compressor won't engage
Count the warning lamp blinks on the standard A/C controller. About thirteen quick blinks in 10 seconds means the high pressure switch has locked out the clutch. About seven slow blinks means the low pressure switch did. If neither, check whether the evaporator temperature sensor has reached its freeze setting. Then check the clutch relay, the controller and the drive belts for slack or breaks.
Manual Section: Air Conditioning Troubleshooting, Fault Codes and Service p. 1087Starter keeps cranking after the key returns from START to RUN
Work down the circuit in order: the ignition switch test, then the starter relay test at test point 6, then the intermediate starter relay. At the starter solenoid, confirm 12 volts are gone from terminal 79 once the key is released. If the starter still runs with 12 volts removed, the starter itself is bad and gets replaced.
Manual Section: Electrical System How It Works and Troubleshooting p. 1421Tractor moves in reverse in 5th, 6th, 11th and 12th after a speed transmission repair
The Reverse/5th clutch hub is installed backward on the shaft. If odd gears act like even ones and even gears like odd, the odd/even clutch pack is installed backward. Clutch pack oil leakage is 0.5 L/min (0.13 gpm) maximum.

Which New Holland TG tractors does this repair manual cover, and does it include engine overhaul?
It covers the New Holland TG215, TG245, TG275 and TG305 for North America. The set is a master table of contents (87710925) plus books 1 to 6b, dated January 2006 to June 2007. Engine repair is not included. For the 8.3 and 9.0 L six-cylinder CNH engine, the book sends you to publication 87515682. The electrical chapters are split by P.I.N.: Z6RW04001 and after, and Z7RW01522 and after. p. 1
What are the TG215, TG245, TG275 and TG305 fluid capacities?
Engine oil takes 5 Gal (19 L) without a filter change and 5-1/2 Gal (21 L) with one. The cooling system holds 7 Gal (26.5 L). The trans/hydraulic system takes 45-1/2 Gal (172 L), and the fuel tank holds 178 Gal (674 L). The 10 bolt FWD differential takes 12.3 liters (13 U.S. quarts). The A/C refrigerant charge is 4.63 lb. (U.S.) (2.1 kg). p. 39
What hydraulic test specifications does the manual give?
Charge pressure is 50 PSI (3.4 bar) minimum at 2000 RPM engine speed. Rear charge/lube pump flow should be at least 47.0 GPM (177 L/min) at 2000 RPM. Front regulated pump flow is 27.0 GPM (102.2 L/min) minimum at 2000 RPM. PFC pump high pressure standby is 3250 PSI (224 bar). Power Beyond coupler flow runs approximately 30.0 GPM (112 L/min). The trailer brake valve limits pressure to 130 bar (+/- 10 bar). p. 790
Does the manual list fault codes for the TG tractor controllers?
Each code gets its own page with the cause, possible failure mode and solution. The instrumentation controller is covered (FAULT CODE INST 1015, Seat Switch Stuck Closed), and so is the AUX/HITCH/PTO controller (code 2, Hitch Raise Solenoid Shorted To 12 Volts). The transmission controller is in there too (FAULT CODE TRANS 147, low regulated system pressure). So is the armrest controller (FAULT CODE ARM 19, Throttle Lever Potentiometer Failure). A June 2007 set repeats these code families for later tractors. There is also a chapter on fault code retrieval and calibration, plus the A/C ATC fault codes. p. 1438
What is inside this manual: schematics, troubleshooting, overhaul?
You get electrical schematic posters 87389710, 87588602 for P.I.N. Z6RW04001 and after, and 87624275 for Z7RW01522 and after. Hydraulic poster 87518875 covers standard flow, MegaFlow, suspension control and autoguidance. How-it-works and troubleshooting chapters sit next to overhaul procedures for the speed and range transmissions, rear frame differential and FWD differentials. Planetaries, PTO clutch, brakes, valves and pumps get the same treatment. Specs include ring and pinion backlash of 0.179 to 0.279 mm (0.007 to 0.011 inch) and a brake friction disc minimum of 3.45 mm (0.136 inch). p. 2484
