Part of the New Holland Repair Manuals.
A grape harvester that quits during vintage does not wait for a dealer slot, and neither can you. The New Holland VX7090, VX 680 service manual PDF exists for exactly that week: 677 pages of factory repair data for one machine sold under two names, VX 680 up to series 006 and VX7090 from series 007, issued under OEM number 84404824B. Hydraulic schematics trace the intake, return, and cleaning circuits behind every lifting and sloping function, while the electrical section, the biggest block in the book, carries wiring diagrams from the operator seat controls to the cab climate system. Shaking supports, noria drives, extractors, hoppers, and the olive harvesting header all get their own repair chapters. During an engine overhaul, machine the exhaust valve seat housing to 47.000 mm and torque the exhaust manifold bolts to 53 ± 5 Nm. Fruit does not wait while the machine sits in the shed. Buy this bookmarked, text searchable file once and it stays in your shop for the life of the harvester.

New Holland VX7090, VX 680 Common Problems This Manual Covers
New Holland VX7090 diesel won't start, stalls in the row or loses power under load
Work the engine troubleshooting chart on pages 58 through 60 before pulling anything apart. For a no-start or stalling engine it points to restricted diesel oil filters (replace the cartridges), impurities or water in the fuel lines, a faulty charge pump, and air in the injection circuit: check the fuel lines, unions, charge pump, filters and injection pump for air, then bleed the circuit. If you pull the injectors, the injector fastening torque is 60 ± 5 Nm (page 51).
Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting p. 58Shaking won't start or shaking frequency won't adjust after work on the hydraulic circuit
Check the hydraulic oil level first; the reservoir takes 65 L (page 25). On the shaking hydraulic diagram for machines starting from series 003 (page 222; earlier series on page 218), shaking runs only when the shaking enabling electric distributor (29) is powered, the circuit is protected by a 180 bar direct acting pressure limiter (124), and frequency is set by the capacity limiter (123) driven by the motor (80). After any work on this circuit or after emptying the reservoir, the pump (118) must be primed again: open the hose to block connection to drain delivery air, then let oil drip through the pressure intake (126).
Manual Section: Shaking Hydraulic Diagram p. 222Hydrostatic drive sluggish, won't pull or won't reach speed in forward or reverse range
Check the reservoir oil level first (65 L, page 25); excessive foam in the reservoir means the intake line is not tight (page 191). With the oil at about 60°C in the reservoir, compare forward and reverse range HP (505 bar, minus 20) and priming pressure (25 bar, +3/-0) against the technical specifications on page 190, using a 0 to 40 bar gauge for priming and a 0 to 600 bar gauge for HP (page 191). After replacing a transmission element, follow the starting procedure on page 191 before driving on the road.
Manual Section: Hydrostatic Transmission p. 190Engine runs hot under load, temperature gauge climbs steadily during full afternoon harvest runs
Work the engine overheating causes on page 59: wash the radiator to remove foreign bodies and check it for leaks, check the fan and water pump belt tension, top up the expansion tank with the specified coolant mixture, and clean or replace a clogged air filter element. The cooling system takes 20 L of AGRIFLU (50%) plus clean water (50%) (page 25). If you replace the thermostat, torque the thermostatic valve fastening bolts to 25 ± 5 Nm (page 51).
Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting p. 59Front wheel nuts working loose, wobble or clunk from the front axle on side slopes
Torque the front wheel nuts to 42 daNm, tolerance plus 10 percent minus 20 percent, with nut without revolving base (page 258). Fit only the stated tyres, 420/70 R24 at the front, because the antiskid system depends on the ratio of rolling circumferences between front and back (page 271), and set pressures from the tyre inflation table on page 272: 2 bar without link, 2.2 bar with link.
Manual Section: Front Axle and Wheels p. 258Frequently Asked Questions
What are the torque specifications for the engine flywheel housing fastening bolts on the New Holland VX7090?
The engine flywheel housing fastening bolts have different torque specifications depending on the threading. For M12 x 1.75 x 100 and M12 x 1.75 x 78 bolts, the torque is 80 ± 10 Nm (8 ± 1 kgm). For M16 x 1.50 x 80 and M16 x 1.50 x 100 bolts, the torque is 200 ± 20 Nm (20 ± 2 kgm). p. 51
How often should the engine oil and fuel filters be changed on the New Holland VX7090?
The engine oil and fuel filters should be replaced every 400 hours or once a year, whichever comes first. This is part of the thermal engine maintenance routine. p. 34
What is the correct operating clearance for the intake and exhaust valves on the New Holland VX7090 engine?
With a cold engine, the operating clearance for the intake valves is 0.25 ± 0.05 mm (0.009 ± 0.001 in), and for the exhaust valves, it is 0.50 ± 0.05 mm (0.019 ± 0.001 in). p. 42
What is the hydraulic oil reservoir capacity of the New Holland VX7090?
The total capacity of the hydraulic oil reservoir is 65 litres. p. 20
What is the correct tension for the alternator and water pump control belt on the New Holland VX7090?
The control belt is correctly tensioned when, using a special tool, you exert a pressure of 78 to 98 N (8 to 10 kg) on the belt between the alternator and water pump pulleys, causing a deflection of 10 to 11 mm (0.394 to 0.433 in). p. 145
How quickly can I access this New Holland VX7090 manual after buying?
A single searchable PDF file of 677 pages, downloadable right after payment. Nothing ships, nothing waits in the mail.
Is printing allowed for this New Holland VX7090 Repair Manual?
Yes, printing is unrestricted: a single page, a chapter, or the lot, on letter or A4.
