Work the engine troubleshooting chart on pages 58 through 60 before pulling anything apart. For a no-start or stalling engine it points to restricted diesel oil filters (replace the cartridges), impurities or water in the fuel lines, a faulty charge pump, and air in the injection circuit: check the fuel lines, unions, charge pump, filters and injection pump for air, then bleed the circuit. If you pull the injectors, the injector fastening torque is 60 ± 5 Nm (page 51).

Check the hydraulic oil level first; the reservoir takes 65 L (page 25). On the shaking hydraulic diagram for machines starting from series 003 (page 222; earlier series on page 218), shaking runs only when the shaking enabling electric distributor (29) is powered, the circuit is protected by a 180 bar direct acting pressure limiter (124), and frequency is set by the capacity limiter (123) driven by the motor (80).
