Part of the Case Repair Manuals.
The hay is down, the forecast is turning, and the 504 diesel in your Case won't start or is running hot. This service manual covers the 2094 with the naturally aspirated 504BD, plus the 2294 and 3294 with the turbocharged 504BDT.
It starts with specifications and lubrication charts for each tractor. From there it covers engine overhaul, the turbocharger, Bosch injection pumps, wiring diagrams, the power shift, PTO, front drive axle, brakes, hitch hydraulics and the cab air conditioner. How It Works chapters explain the power shift circuits and control hydraulics.
It's late, you're alone in the shed, and the dealer is closed. The troubleshooting charts list causes and checks for each symptom.

Case 2094, 2294, 3294 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Engine is hard to start or will not start, with no exhaust smoke
If no smoke comes out, the engine stop control lever is probably not opening all the way. The usual cause is a stop cable that is out of adjustment. Check the lever and readjust its cable using the Engine Troubleshooting and Tune-Up section.
Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting and Tune-Up p. 144Engine oil pressure low
Check the oil level first, and keep checking it every ten hours of operation. If the level is good and pressure is still low, the oil pump relief valve may be faulty. The Engine Overhaul section covers removing the oil pan and inspecting the oil pump.
Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting and Tune-Up p. 161Engine temperature above normal
A loose fan belt is the first thing to check. Set it to the correct tension and replace a worn belt. If the engine still runs hot, the thermostats may be faulty. Remove and test them using the cooling system procedure in the Engine Overhaul section.
Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting and Tune-Up p. 154Draft arms will raise but do not cancel
This usually means the valve lockout linkage is out of adjustment. Check that the timing marks line up first. Then adjust the lockout linkage or the follow-up linkage, using the hitch troubleshooting tables and the Hydraulic Valves and Hitch section.
Manual Section: Hydraulic Schematic, Hitch Tests and Pumps p. 1605Frequently Asked Questions
Does this manual cover my Case 2094, 2294 or 3294 tractor?
Yes. This is the Case service manual for the 2094, 2294 and 3294 tractors, with general specifications and lubrication charts for each one. The 2094 uses the naturally aspirated 504BD engine. The 2294 and 3294 use the turbocharged 504BDT. The manual doesn't print serial number ranges, so check the serial number plate on your tractor. p. 1
What are the Case 2094, 2294 and 3294 valve clearances and engine speeds?
Set the valves cold. Exhaust valves take 0.025 inch (0.635 mm) and intake valves take 0.015 inch (0.381 mm). Low idle is 725 to 775 RPM and rated speed is 2100 RPM. High idle with no load should read 2280 to 2320 RPM. p. 5
What are the cylinder head and connecting rod torque values for the 504BD and 504BDT engines?
Torque the cylinder head bolts in three steps, following the tightening sequence: 70 ft. lbs. (95 Nm), then 140 ft. lbs. (190 Nm), then 210 ft. lbs. (285 Nm). Connecting rod bolts take 95 to 105 Ft. Lbs. (129 to 142 Nm) with the threads lubricated. The crankshaft pulley bolt takes 100 to 110 Ft. Lbs. (136 to 149 Nm). p. 260
What are the Case 2094, 2294 and 3294 hydraulic pump and injector pressures?
The hydraulic piston pump maximum pressure check is 2200 to 2300 PSI (15 169 to 15 859 kPa). Injectors should open at 3950 to 4100 PSI if new or serviced, and at 3400 to 3950 PSI if used. With a warm engine at rated speed, engine oil pressure should be 45 to 60 PSI (310 to 414 kPa). p. 1622
What is inside this manual: overhaul procedures, troubleshooting, wiring diagrams?
All three. It has specifications and lubrication charts for each tractor, plus engine troubleshooting and complete overhaul, turbocharger and fuel injection service, and electrical troubleshooting. Wiring diagrams cover the tractor harness, cranking system, electric shift and cab harness. Other sections cover steering, the power shift, PTO, rear axle, front drive axle, brakes, the hydraulic schematic, hitch tests and valves, cab and air conditioner service, and How It Works chapters. p. 1
