Part of the Case IH Repair Manuals.
The planter is hitched, the ground is fit, and something on the 2150 24 Row isn't right. Maybe the wings won't fold, a row is skipping, or the PTO pump sounds tired. This is the Case IH factory service manual for the Early Riser 2150 24 Row 30 front fold trailing planter, drawbar or two-point hitch.
It covers tractor remote and PTO pump hydraulics, the lift and fold valve block, DeltaForce down-pressure, vacuum and bulk fill fans, markers, liquid fertilizer and pneumatics. It also covers the vDrive seed meter drive, UCM and row module electronics, schematic sheets, fault diagnostics and row unit service. A guessed relief setting or lug torque can blow a hose or drop a wheel on the road.
You buy it once, and it stays with this planter for every season you run it.

Case IH 2150 24 Row Common Problems This Manual Covers
Rows not planting seed
Start simple: check for empty hoppers and plugged or damaged seed tubes. Then check for an obstruction at the meter outlet, a damaged meter drive, the baffle setting and a worn seed disc. Rule out vacuum damage or low vacuum. Finally, confirm in the display's frame setup that the planting start and stop heights are set.
Manual Section: Planting - Not planting seed p. 1778Low seed population
Inspect the drive systems for failed, worn or misaligned parts. Check wheel height so the toolbar sits level. Run the distance calibration, and set the wheel speed sensor to sprocket gap at 2 to 4 mm. Slow down if you're planting too fast. Bring vacuum up to the recommended level, check for leaks, and look for seed bridging or seed sticking to the disc.
Manual Section: Planting - Low seed population p. 1778Uneven seed depth
If you're going too fast for the seedbed, slow down or add row unit down pressure. Unplug the seed shoe, set covering disk spring pressure, and replace a worn furrow firming point. Replace opener disks under 14.5 in. Level the toolbar front to rear in planting position and clean dirty seed tubes.
Manual Section: Planting - Uneven seed depth p. 1780Planter frame does not raise to full up position
Raise tractor engine RPM so the pump makes full output, and confirm the tractor hydraulic system works properly. Check that the remote valve detent isn't set too low or defective. Lengthen the remote timer setting. Remove any excess weight. Make sure plant mode or raise position is selected on the display.
Manual Section: Planting - Planter frame does not raise to full up position p. 1782Frequently Asked Questions
What relief pressure does my tractor remote need for the Case IH 2150 24 Row planter?
The tractor remote needs a minimum relief pressure of 18616 kPa (2700 psi). The manual sizes the planter for tractors from 206 kW (280 Hp) to 368 kW (500 Hp) engine power. p. 75
What flow does the optional PTO hydraulic pump on the 2150 24 Row deliver?
At 1000 RPM PTO speed, with fluid at 26.6 °C (80 °F) and 15858 kPa (2300 psi), expect 83.3 to 89.3 L/min (22.0 to 23.6 US gpm). For the flow test, get the oil above 37.8 °C (100 °F) and run rated PTO speed. You should see 23 to 24 US gpm at 15168 kPa (2200 psi). The PTO-driven relief valve sets at 16550 kPa ± 345 kPa (2400 psi ± 50 psi). p. 151
How many hydraulic remotes does the 2150 24 Row need, and what case drain back pressure is allowed?
It needs three remotes with the two-point hitch and four with the drawbar hitch. Back pressure at the case drain port must not go over 179 kPa (26 psi). p. 58
What tire pressure and lug bolt torque do the 2150 24 Row wheels need?
The tires are Firestone VF 295/75R22.5 AD2, inflated to 440 kPa (64 psi). Torque the wheel lug bolts to 331 to 447 N·m (244 to 330 lb ft). The M20 x 65 bolts holding the center carrying wheel to the frame take 587 to 794 N·m (433 to 586 lb ft). p. 55
How do I check the opener disks on the 2150 24 Row for wear?
Measure the outside diameter of both opener disks on the row. If a disk measures less than 14.5 in, replace it. While you're there, turn the disks by hand to check the bearings. p. 1838
