Case IH Axial-Flow 7250, Axial-Flow 8250, Axial-Flow 9250 Common Problems This Manual Covers
One track is aligned but the other rubs hard against the outside idler
The likely cause is tension rod torque set too high. Check that the tension rod torque is 68 N·m (50 lb ft). If it is too high, raise the machine until no weight is left on the tracks. Loosen the tension rod nuts, then tighten them to 68 N·m (50 lb ft). The procedure is in the Wheels, Tracks and Track Suspension troubleshooting.
Manual Section: Tracks - Troubleshooting p. 1918Separator disengages while harvesting and the display shows alarm A-0100
The separator drops out for no obvious reason. The display shows the disengage separator alarm (A-0100) and then shuts off. The book's correction is to re-calibrate the chopper speed shift actuator. The procedure is in the electrical chapter under Straw chopper speed control actuator - Troubleshooting.
Manual Section: Straw chopper speed control actuator - Troubleshooting p. 4526DTC 1113 - Engine coolant temperature sensor voltage is higher than expected
The ECU A-9000 has seen more than 4.93 V on the B-9003 signal circuit. Possible failure modes are faulty B-9003 wiring, an internal failure in B-9003 or faulty A-9000 software. Use the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to confirm the fault is present and active. Then check the B-9003 circuit for an open. The full procedure is in the Fault Codes chapter under the ECU DTCs.
Manual Section: Fault codes - DTC 1113 p. 4983ATC-111 - Cab sensor open or shorted to power, cab climate control misbehaving
The ATC has detected a short to high or an open in the cab temperature sensor signal circuit. The cause could be the sensor, the wiring or the controller. Disconnect the sensor from the Lower Roof (CR) harness at connector X-149 and measure it. A reading of 0 Ω or infinite means the sensor has failed internally, so replace it. The test is in the Fault Codes chapter under the climate control codes.

Which Case IH combines and serial range does this service manual cover?
This is Case IH service manual part number 51586252, 1st edition, English, dated March 2019. It covers the Axial-Flow 7250, 8250 and 9250 Tier 4B (final) combines for North America, PIN YJG238001 and above. Check the PIN plate on your machine before you order. p. 1
What engines and power ratings do the Axial-Flow 7250, 8250 and 9250 have?
The 7250 runs the FPT Cursor 11, the 8250 the FPT Cursor 13 and the 9250 the FPT Cursor 16. Gross power (ISO TR14396) is 300 kW (403 Hp), 358 kW (480 Hp) and 410 kW (550 Hp). With power rise, peak power is 349 kW (469 Hp), 414 kW (555 Hp) and 466 kW (625 Hp). All three are rated at 2100 RPM. Displacement is 11.1 L (677 in³), 12.9 l (787 in³) and 16 L (970 in³). p. 47
What are the engine oil and hydraulic system capacities of the Axial-Flow 7250, 8250 and 9250?
Engine oil takes 26 L (6.9 US gal) on the AF7250, 28 L (7.4 US gal) on the AF8250 and 32 L (8.5 US gal) on the AF9250. Total hydraulic system capacity is 65.2 L (17.2 US gal) on the 7250 and 8250. The 9250 takes 68.2 L (18.0 US gal). p. 32
Does the manual list fault codes and alarm codes?
Yes. The fault code chapter covers display alarm codes such as A-0033 Turn off parking brake and A-0047 Check brake pads and brake fluid level. It also covers automatic temperature control codes such as ATC-111 - Cab sensor open or shorted to power. Engine control unit DTCs are listed too, for example DTC 1113 - Engine coolant temperature sensor voltage is higher than expected. Each entry gives the control module, cause, possible failure modes and solution. p. 4951
Does it include wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics?
Yes. The electrical chapters cover control systems, harnesses and connectors. The fold-out electrical schematic 51446765 is at the end of the book. Its six sheets run from the schematic sheet index and starting and charging through to the fuse/relay blocks and component location. The fold-out hydraulic/hydrostatic schematic 51586253 shows rotor drive, ground drive, PTO gearbox, brakes, steering and spreader, with a components list. p. 9000
