Case IH Patriot 4430 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Machine will not move
Work down the drive circuit troubleshooting chart. Start with the easy checks: hydraulic oil level low, park brake switch on or brake not released, and the neutral safety switch. Next check the power train control module fuse, relay, module and wiring. Only then move on to the motor control valve, shunt valve, suction strainers, hydrostatic pump and pump drive. Confirm charge pressure at 1300 RPM before you pull a pump.

The cylinder system troubleshooting chart puts hydraulic oil level low at the top, then a clogged suction strainer. Check both before you blame the steering cylinder or steering pump. After that, check the pressure compensator and look for a worn pressure compensated pump. The Hydraulic steering section covers the steering control and steering cylinders once you've narrowed it down.

When one section is dead and the others spray fine, the AIM Command troubleshooting chart points at a faulty fuse, faulty wiring or a shorted solenoid. Put a meter on the nozzle valve coil. Normal resistance is near 21 - 23.5 ohm, so a reading well off that points to the coil. Use the connector pin-out tables to trace the wiring.

Check for low engine oil level before you do anything else, then work through the solution steps in the Fault codes section. It has you check the oil temp/press sensor, its wiring, and the ECU supply voltages and grounds before you suspect the engine lubrication system itself.
