Part of the Case IH Operator Manuals.
Critical Level 1 and non-critical Level 2 warning displays on the ROPS post instrument cluster are explained in this 273-page Case IH STX380-STX530 series operator manual PDF (OEM ID 87366126), which covers four Steiger tractor variants. Operating chapters cover Powershift, Autoshift and 24-speed transmission use, the differential lock, PTO, three-point hitch setup and remote valve function control. Ballast, tread settings and the lubrication and maintenance chart follow. Fill the STX480 and STX530 with 13.0 gal (49.2 L) of engine oil and 21.0 gal (80.0 L) of coolant; the STX380 and STX430 take 7.0 gal (28 L) and 18.25 gal (69.0 L). Before you plumb an implement into the remote hydraulics, check that its hose ends carry 1/2-14 inch male couplers made to ASAE S366, SAE J1036 or ISO Standard 5675. Bookmarks and a searchable text layer take you straight to Product Identification and Serial Numbers, so your parts order carries the right tractor serial the first time.

Case IH STX380, STX430, STX480, STX530 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Case IH STX Steiger engine oil pressure very low warning with red stop light and alarm flashing
Shut the engine off immediately when ENGINE OIL PRESSURE VERY LOW appears. The page 81 table lists it as a Level 1 critical fault that RESET will not clear. Check engine oil level, then look for other causes. On Performance clusters the engine shuts down in 30 seconds. Cycle the key only to move the tractor to a safe spot, since damage can occur.
Manual Section: Warning Fault Displays (Critical - Level 1) p. 81Transmission oil temp or hydraulic oil temp high warning showing on the programmable display
Check for a blocked air cooler as soon as TRANSMISSION OIL TEMP HIGH or HYDRAULIC OIL TEMP HIGH appears, following page 84. If the warning reaches VERY HIGH, shut the engine off immediately. Then check hydraulic oil level and look for a blocked cooler or other cause, as page 81 directs. If the high warning persists after cleaning, contact your dealer.
Manual Section: Non-Critical Displays (Level 2) p. 84Transmission controller off line message, armrest or hitch controller not communicating over the data cable
Check and replace the fuse for the controller named on the display, following page 82. Use fuse #39 for the transmission controller, #38 for the armrest, #41 for the hitch and #40 for the remote hydraulic (AUX) controller. For INSTRUMENT OFF LINE, check fuses #9 and #37. If the message returns with a good fuse, contact your dealer.
Manual Section: Non-Critical Displays (Level 2) p. 82HITCH CAPTURE, AUX NEUTRAL or TURN PTO OFF message appearing on the display at startup
Move the hitch position control to match the actual three-point hitch position when HITCH CAPTURE shows, following page 83. Return the remote hydraulic control levers to neutral for AUX NEUTRAL. Move the PTO switch to OFF for TURN PTO OFF. With the engine running, keep hands, arms, legs and feet out of the hitch and linkage travel arc (page 132).
Manual Section: Non-Critical Displays (Level 2) p. 83WATER IN FUEL warning on the programmable display with amber light staying on
Drain the fuel tank until the fuel runs clear, then drain the water from the engine fuel filter, following page 83. If FUEL FILTER BLOCKED also shows, change the fuel filter at the earliest convenience as page 85 directs. Pressing RESET only clears the warning text for 10 minutes, so fix the water before heading back to the field.
Manual Section: Non-Critical Displays (Level 2) p. 83Transmission oil filter blocked or hydraulic oil filter blocked warning with amber lamp staying on
Replace the transmission filter when TRANSMISSION OIL FILTER BLOCKED shows, and replace the hydraulic filter for HYDRAULIC OIL FILTER BLOCKED, following page 85. Replace the axle filter for AXLE LUBE OIL FILTER BLOCKED. These Level 4 warnings clear for one hour with RESET, but the amber lamp stays on with the engine running until the restriction is corrected.
Manual Section: Level 4 - Standard and Performance Warnings p. 85Frequently Asked Questions
