Deere's print shop, not a forum, produced this one: the John Deere 111 technical manual PDF, factory publication TM1206, all 654 pages covering five lawn tractors in the 100 series, from the 108 up through the 116. Wiring diagrams trace the cranking, ignition, and charging circuits separately for each model, so the schematic you follow matches the harness under your hood. Carburetor and governor linkage adjustments, transaxle and hydrostatic drive teardowns, and PTO clutch service fill the rest of the book, with the three engine sections taking up roughly a third of it. Set PTO clutch cone clearance at 1.5 mm (1/16 in.) and torque spark plugs to 20 to 27 N·m (15 to 20 ft-lbs). A torque figure somebody remembered wrong strips aluminum threads for good. John Deere 108, 111, 111H, 112L, 116 Common Problems This Manual Covers
John Deere 111 mower deck will not engage, PTO clutch clicks but blades never spin
Check for battery voltage at the clutch connector with the switch on; the electric PTO clutch draws 4 amps, so a corroded connector kills engagement. If voltage is good, adjust the clutch gap with a 0.33 mm (0.013 in.) feeler gauge per page 565, turning each lock nut 1/4 turn to change the gap 0.25 mm.

Pull the plug and check for spark against the block while cranking. On 108, 111, and 111H engines, gap a new plug to 0.76 mm and set breaker points to 0.50 mm, then torque the plug to 20 to 27 N·m (15 to 20 ft-lbs). If spark is good, work the Diagnose Ignition System Malfunctions chart in the Electrical System section that starts on page 347.

Inspect the belt for glazing and check pulley grooves for rust before buying parts. On 108, 111, and 116 tractors, set the flat idler 94 mm (3.7 in.) from the frame and adjust the belt guides to 4.76 mm (3/16 in.) clearance, shown on page 527. Replace any belt with cracked or missing cogs.

Clean and tighten both battery cable ends at the battery, frame ground, and starter post before condemning the starter. On the 112L, cranking draw should not exceed 80 amps; bench test the starter no-load per page 495, where draw over 60 amps at 7000 rpm means worn bushings or shorted windings.

Remove the blades and check the cutting edges; sharpen or replace once the dull tip on the cutting edge reaches 0.40 mm (1/64 in.). Balance each blade on a cone before reinstalling, then torque the mounting screws to 68 to 79 N·m (50 to 58 ft-lbs) as shown on page 56.

Drain the tank and float bowl, then remove and disassemble the carburetor. Soak the body in carburetor cleaner for 1 to 2 hours per page 255 and blow out every passage with compressed air. After reassembly, set slow idle to 1750 to 1850 rpm and fast idle to 3300 to 3500 rpm.
