Clean the air filter and blow chaff out of the cooling fins before blaming the carburetor. Verify fast idle at 3350 ± 50 rpm against the spec on page 73, then pull the plug and reset the gap to 1.015 mm (0.040 in.). Drain stale fuel and refill the 6.0 L tank with fresh gas if surging continues.
