Boom cylinder, bucket cylinder and control valve assembly work on the LA243 front loader is the heaviest job in this 372-page Kubota LA243 service manual PDF (OEM ID 9Y011-13810), and the coverage widens to the BX2350D tractor and three RCK rotary mowers, five variants in all. Hydraulic schematics trace the circuit through the pump, flow priority valve, relief valve and cylinders, while wiring diagrams map the starting, charging and lighting circuits. Troubleshooting charts back up the engine, front axle and steering sections. Fill the BX2350D engine with 3.1 L of oil at a filter change, then torque mower blade screws to 102.9 to 117.7 N·m. Your job might be the 200-hour check or setting front ballast before loader work; both appear in the general section. Bookmarks and a searchable text layer help you confirm the exact component and special tool before you place an order.

Kubota BX2350D Common Problems This Manual Covers

Kubota BX2350D diesel engine turns over on the starter but does not start or fire

Check the tank for fuel first. Before touching fuel lines or the fuel filter, stop the engine and remove the key (page 33). Bleed air from the fuel system, change a clogged fuel filter, clean a clogged fuel pipe, and change the fuel if water got in. Tighten a loose injection pipe retaining nut, as the chart on page 69 lists.

Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting p. 69
Diesel engine coolant temperature climbs during steady loader work until the engine overheats

Clean dust from the radiator net and radiator fins with the engine stopped and key out. Never remove the radiator cap hot; let it cool and loosen it to the stop to relieve pressure first (page 42). Replenish coolant and engine oil, and replace or adjust a broken or loose fan belt (page 34). Replace a defective radiator cap or damaged radiator hose per page 71.

Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting p. 71
Hydrostatic transmission feels weak pushing into a pile and the machine loses drive power

Check the transmission oil level first and fill to the proper level. Repair a defective speed control pedal linkage. If charge pressure is too low, work in order: replace the oil filter cartridge, check charge pressure, then inspect or flush the charge relief valve. Let the engine cool before pulling the filter; hot oil burns (page 27). Inspect or replace a sticking check and high pressure relief valve (page 148).

Manual Section: Hydrostatic Transmission Troubleshooting p. 148
Hydraulic implement does not rise when the hydraulic lever is pulled and the system makes noise

Lower the implement, stop the engine and set the parking brake on level ground before checking (page 25). Refill insufficient transmission oil and replace a clogged oil filter cartridge, letting the engine cool first since oil can burn (page 27). Repair or replace a loose or broken suction pipe or its connecting hose, and replace a broken suction pipe O-ring. Adjust or replace a low relief valve setting; replace a broken hydraulic pump (page 245).

Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting p. 245
Raised hydraulic implement will not hold position and drops by its own weight over time

Lower the implement to the ground and stop the engine before any check, with the parking brake on (page 25). Inspect the hydraulic cylinder for wear or damage and replace it if needed. Replace a worn or damaged piston O-ring, and replace a malfunctioning control valve, following the chart on page 245.

Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting p. 245
Starter motor does not operate when the main switch is turned and the machine stays silent

Check the battery and recharge or replace it if discharged or defective. Disconnect the negative cable first (page 17), and remove the battery to recharge it in a ventilated spot with no open flame (page 19). Replace a blown slow blow fuse with the specified capacity, never steel or copper wire. Adjust or replace a faulty safety switch, repair harness connections, and repair the starter motor or replace the main switch (page 279).

Manual Section: Electrical System Troubleshooting p. 279

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the mower blade not turn on an RCK48, RCK54, or RCK60 deck?

If the mower blade does not turn, it may be due to a mid-PTO system malfunction or a broken mower belt. You should check the transmission and replace the mower belt if necessary, as detailed on page 333. p. 333

What are the replacement specifications for the engine fuel filter on the Kubota BX2350D?

The fuel filter element should be checked every 100 hours and replaced as needed. If the fuel filter is clogged by debris or contaminated by water, it must be replaced to prevent malfunction of the fuel pump. p. 33

What are the replacement specifications for the transmission/hydraulic fluid filter on the Kubota BX2350D?

The transmission oil filter should be replaced after the initial 50 hours of operation and then every 300 hours. Use only a KUBOTA genuine filter to prevent serious damage to the hydraulic system. p. 27

What is the torque specification for the mower blade screw on the Kubota BX2350D?

The mower blade screw must be tightened to a torque of 98.1 to 117.1 N·m (10.0 to 12.0 kgf·m, 72.3 to 86.8 ft-lbs). Always handle the mower blade with care and use a block of wood to hold the blade while tightening. p. 323

What is the specified valve clearance for the Kubota BX2350D engine?

The valve clearance for the engine (when cold) should be between 0.145 and 0.185 mm (0.00571 to 0.00728 in.). This must be checked and adjusted when the engine is cold. p. 81
