Blade won't engage or deck vibrates and the dealer wants a week turnaround. This OEM workshop manual has the mechanism teardown and spec data to fix it today.

Kubota built this OEM workshop manual (#9Y111-13450) for one purpose: bringing your mid-mount rotary mower back to factory standard, 51 pages of it. The torque table runs the full range, metric screws, stud bolts, and American Standard UNC/UNF threads, while the maintenance schedule splits service into daily, 50-hour, 150-hour, and annual intervals. Servicing procedures walk through power transmission, center and outer blade disassembly, lifting mechanism adjustment, and reassembly. Cutting height adjusts from 25 to 102 mm; the RCK54-32 lays down a 1372 mm swath, the RCK60-32 a 1524 mm one. Skip the forum guesswork and work from the figures the factory printed. Bookmarks let you jump straight to Troubleshooting, Tightening Torques, or Disassembling and Assembling instead of scrolling past sections you don't need right now.

Kubota RCK54-32, RCK60-32 Common Problems This Manual Covers

Drive belt slipping or squealing during heavy, wet grass cutting p. 40

Disengage the PTO and clear all grass and debris from the belt, pulleys, and deck channels. Inspect the belt for glazing, cracking, or fraying and replace if worn. Verify blade bolt torque at 103 to 118 N·m after any deck work. Reinstall the belt per the routing diagram in the Servicing section.

Manual Section: Belt Slipping
Engine bogs down and tractor loads up cutting tall overgrown grass at speed p. 40

Reduce ground speed immediately and run the engine at full throttle. Clear all debris packed around the spindle housings under the deck. Check gear box oil level; capacity is 0.36 L of SAE 90 GL-5 gear oil (page 17). Inspect belt condition and pulley rotation, and replace a worn belt before the next cutting session.

Manual Section: Mower Loads Down Tractor
Blades scalping turf on turns and slight terrain dips despite correct cutting height p. 40

Set cutting height above the 25 mm (1.0 in.) minimum when working uneven ground and slow down on turns. Remove all three blades and check each one for bends on a flat surface; replace any bent blade. Adjust anti-scalp rollers to just clear level ground. Torque blade screws to 103 to 118 N·m after reinstalling.

Manual Section: Blades Scalping Grass
Streaking of uncut grass across deck width at normal ground speed p. 40

Slow down and verify the engine is at full throttle. Remove and inspect all three blades for dull or chipped cutting edges; sharpen or replace as needed. Torque blade screws to 103 to 118 N·m after reinstalling. Clear grass packed in deck chambers and confirm the belt is seated fully on every pulley. See page 40 for additional causes.

Manual Section: Streaking of Uncut Grass
Discharge cover plugging with clippings in wet or heavy grass conditions p. 40

Raise cutting height to at least 50 mm (2.0 in.) in wet or heavy grass and reduce ground speed. Clear the discharge outlet completely before resuming operation. Run the engine at full throttle throughout the cut. If clumping repeats, make overlapping passes at lower grass density. See the troubleshooting procedures on page 40 for the full checklist.

Manual Section: Discharge Cover Plugged
Severe deck vibration and rattling develops suddenly during normal mowing operation p. 40

Stop immediately and inspect all three blades and spindle housings for debris impact or damage. Remove each blade and check for bends on a flat surface; even slight deformation unbalances the deck at speed. Inspect pulleys for cracks and the belt for damage. Torque blade screws to 103 to 118 N·m (76.0 to 87.0 lbf·ft) on reinstall per page 43.

Manual Section: Excessive Vibration

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the recommended service intervals?

Service intervals follow a maintenance checklist with several tiers: daily inspections, an initial check at 50 hours, then recurring checks at 150 hours, 1 year, and 4 years. Tracked components include oil leakage, blade tightness, and greasing points.

What fluids and capacities does this machine require?

The gear box takes 0.36 L (0.38 U.S.qts, 0.32 Imp.qts) of SAE 90 gear oil (API Service GL-5 gear oil). Grease points such as the universal joint, spindle shafts, and anti-scalp rollers get Multipurpose EP2 grease (NLGI Grade No.2), applied until it overflows.

What torque specifications are listed?

General-use screws, bolts, and nuts are grouped by property class (M6 to M20, 7T, 9T) and material. Named components get their own figures: the mower blade screw at 103 to 118 N·m and gear box mounting screws at 77.4 to 90.2 N·m. American Standard fasteners with UNC or UNF threads are also listed, for example 1/4 SAE GR.5 at 11.7 to 15.7 N·m.

What format is this Kubota RCK54-32, RCK60-32 manual in?

It's a 51-page searchable PDF, available to download the moment checkout completes. Open it on a laptop, tablet, or phone and take it straight to the shop floor.

Can I print this Kubota RCK54-32, RCK60-32 manual?
