New Holland StackCruiser 102, StackCruiser 103, StackCruiser 105 Common Problems This Manual Covers

First table does not deliver in either auto or manual mode

Before you pull a sensor or check a solenoid, look at the safety gate. If the safety gate is down, the first table will not deliver in auto or in manual mode. Raise the safety gate and cycle the table again. The manual lists it as the cause in the first table troubleshooting chart.

Manual Section: Bale wagons - First table - Troubleshooting p. 3838
Open-center system: no hydraulic functions will operate

When nothing moves at all, the manual names no oil to the pump as a cause. Check the reservoir suction screen. If the screen is plugged, clean it. This is Test N°3 in the tandem gear pump testing procedure, so work through it before you start chasing valves or electrical faults.

Manual Section: Hydraulic systems - Tandem gear pump - Testing p. 777
Open-center system: all functions are too slow

If every function is sluggish, the manual points to the motor relief valve being set too low. Tee in a gauge and read the pressure. If it is less than 15858 kPa (2300 psi), reset the relief valve to spec. Then cycle the bale handling functions again and recheck the gauge to confirm the setting held.

Manual Section: Hydraulic systems - Tandem gear pump - Testing p. 779
Rolling rack moves too far or the load slides rearward too early when unloading

The manual traces this to a rolling rack relief valve (RRRV) set too low. Increase the RRRV setting, turning it a quarter to half a turn each time. Repeat until the rolling rack moves properly, which is the check result the book gives for this correction in the bale storing and handling problem-solving table.

Manual Section: Hydraulic systems - Bale storing and handling hydraulic system - Problem solving p. 1029

Frequently Asked Questions

Which New Holland StackCruiser bale wagons does this service manual cover?

It covers the StackCruiser 102, 103 and 105 Tier 4B (final) self-propelled bale wagons, North America, PIN YHG651501 and above. This is New Holland part number 48190534, 1st edition English, dated September 2017. The 102 is two-tie, three-wide and the 103 is three-tie, two-wide. The 105 handles large, rectangular bales only. p. 3

What are the engine power and torque specs for the New Holland StackCruiser 102, 103, 105?

All three models list maximum power at rated speed of 142 kW (190 Hp). Peak torque is 850 N·m (627 lb ft) @ 1400 RPM. The engine is the F4HFE6138*B004, a NEF 6 Tier IVB six-cylinder unit, turbocharged and aftercooled. p. 65
