Part of the New Holland Repair Manuals.
The lift won't raise the plow, the dash is showing a 2011 clutch pedal code, and the dealer can't come out until next week. This factory service manual is written for that day on a New Holland TL5.80, TL5.90 or TL5.100.
It covers Tier 3 tractors with PIN HCCZ, in cab and ROPS versions, with the 12x12 Power Shuttle and 4WD. It takes you through overhaul of the FPT 3.9 L four-cylinder, the clutch and flywheel damper, the shuttle hydraulic schemas, axles, PTO, brakes, the three-point hitch and cab climate control. Electrical schematic sheets are included for both cab and ROPS tractors.
Troubleshooting tables and fault code articles give a cause and a remedy for each symptom, and the connector tables list every pin, wire and Color-Size against its schematic sheet.

New Holland TL5.80, TL5.90, TL5.100 Common Problems This Manual Covers
Low oil pressure
In the Engine troubleshooting tables, the first cause listed for low oil pressure is a low engine oil level, and the fix is to fill to the proper level. With a filter change, refill with 11.8 L. The same troubleshooting table lists the other causes and remedies for low oil pressure in order.
Manual Section: Engine - Troubleshooting p. 81Fault code 2011 - Clutch pedal potentiometer signal too low
The Transmission Control System section traces this code to a wiring fault. Check the clutch pedal potentiometer circuit for an open circuit. If you find one, repair or replace the harness as required. The same section also covers the transmission controller calibration procedure.
Manual Section: Transmission control system - 2011 Clutch pedal potentiometer signal too low p. 1324Three-point hitch lift fails to operate
The rear three-point hitch troubleshooting in the Hitch, Drawbar and Ballast section lists a faulty hydraulic pump as one cause of a dead lift. The fix is to service or replace the pump. The Hydraulic Systems section also has the hydraulic testing procedures and the fixed displacement pump.
Manual Section: Rear three-point hitch - Troubleshooting p. 751Starter operation failed with excessive current flow
The starter troubleshooting chart in the Engine Electrical, Starting and Charging section links excessive current draw to a grounded armature or field coil. The repair is to replace the starter motor. The same section also covers battery servicing and alternator testing.

Which tractors does the New Holland TL5.80 / TL5.90 / TL5.100 service manual cover?
It covers the TL5.80, TL5.90 and TL5.100 with PIN HCCZ, Tier 3, the 12x12 Power Shuttle and 4WD. Both cab and ROPS (no cab) versions are covered. The part number is 48140866. The book doesn't print a numeric serial range, so check the PIN prefix on your tractor's plate. p. 2
What is the engine power of the New Holland TL5.80, TL5.90 and TL5.100?
At 2400 RPM the TL5.80 makes 60.0 kW (81.6 Hp), the TL5.90 makes 66.0 kW (89.7 Hp) and the TL5.100 makes 74.5 kW (101.3 Hp). Peak torque at 1400 RPM is 300.0, 330.0 and 380.0 N·m (221.3, 243.4 and 280.3 lb ft). All three use the FPT four-cylinder turbo diesel, 3.9 L (238 in³), with an 18:1 compression ratio. p. 56
How much engine oil and transmission oil does the New Holland TL5 tractor take?
The engine takes 11.8 L (3.1 US gal) with a filter change and 10.5 L (2.8 US gal) without one. The transmission takes 55.0 L (14.5 US gal). The front axle center holds 4.5 L on the TL5.80 and 7.0 L on the TL5.90 and TL5.100. Each front hub takes 1.5 L (0.4 US gal). p. 49
What are the fuel tank capacities of the New Holland TL5.80, TL5.90 and TL5.100?
The main tank holds 87 L (23 US gal) on cab tractors and 118 L (31 US gal) on tractors without a cab. The optional auxiliary tank adds 53 L (14 US gal). The book calls these theoretical volumes, so use them as a reference only, not as an exact fill. p. 49
Does the New Holland TL5 service manual include wiring diagrams, hydraulic schemas and fault codes?
Yes. It has electrical schematic sheets for both cab and ROPS tractors, plus connector indexes and connector tables with Pin, Wire and Color-Size columns. It has hydraulic schemas for the power shuttle, clutch, rear PTO, hydraulic PTO and three-point hitch. Fault code articles cover the transmission controller, 4WD, front differential, rear PTO and the ADIC instrument cluster, for example 14002 - Rear PTO Speed Sensor Short to Ground. p. 955
