Part of the New Holland Repair Manuals.
A W230C throws a transmission temperature fault halfway through a stockpile shift, or one bucket function quits while the lift arms still work. This is the New Holland service manual for the W190C and W230C Tier 4A (interim) wheel loaders, part number 47673351.
It covers builds with the 4-speed and the 5-speed transmission, plus both XT and Z-Bar linkage. Inside are the engine with SCR and EGR/DPF aftertreatment, powershift and torque converter stall testing, axles and brakes. It also has full hydraulic schematics, electrical frames 01 to 33 and fault codes for the ECU, RCU, transmission and cluster.
The loader valve relief settings, brake accumulator cut-in and cut-out pressures and tire pressures for both models are printed in their sections, next to the procedures that use them.

New Holland W190C, W230C Common Problems This Manual Covers
Fault 1314 Transmission Oil Temperature Above Normal sets and the transmission oil runs hot.
The fault code procedure points to a fan that is not working or a dirty, clogged cooling core. Repair the fan or clear the core, then go back to Step 1 to confirm the fault is gone. The 1315 Transmission Oil Temperature Too High article next to it repeats that fan and cooling core check, then moves to a resistance check on the Torque Converter Output temperature sending unit.
Manual Section: Electrical systems - FAULT CODES p. 1493One loader function is dead or weak, such as the bucket cylinders, while the lift arms still work normally.
Use the troubleshooting procedure called Problem in a Single Loader Circuit. If the cylinder does not move in both directions during the test, the loader control valve is damaged and needs repair. Check the main relief at 248 - 252 bar (3596 - 3654 psi). Check the bucket port reliefs at 152 bar (2204 psi) for A and 290 bar (4205 psi) for B.
Manual Section: Hydraulic systems - Service instruction - Troubleshooting p. 714Fault 1336 Transmission Oil Filter Blocked is logged on the cluster.
The 1336 procedure first has you clear the codes and confirm that 1336 is recorded again, which points to clogged filters. Step 2 is to replace the transmission filter and return to Step 1 to confirm the fault is gone. If it still comes back, the procedure moves to Connector FM at the transmission oil filter sending unit and the filter maintenance switch.
Manual Section: Electrical systems - FAULT CODES p. 1527The cab A/C runs but gives not enough cooling.
The Air conditioning troubleshooting table lists mechanical, electrical, refrigerant and internal system causes for Not Enough Cooling. It sends you to the mechanical compressor check, the evaporator heater core check, the blower and compressor clutch check and pressure testing. The refrigerant charge is 1700 g (60.0 oz).
