Part of the New Holland Repair Manuals.
Strip, set and rebuild the New Holland W50C, W60C, W70C and W80C Stage IIIB compact wheel loaders with this factory service manual. It is part number 47768541C, in English, dated March 2017. It covers all eight variants: the W50C and W60C in TC and ZB form, and the W70C and W80C in standard and High Speed.
Guessing gets expensive on these loaders. Fill a High Speed gearbox to the standard 1.3 L mark and you have overfilled it. The book gives you the inching valve pressures, steering relief settings, A/C charge and engine mount torque.
The teardown chapters come with hydraulic and electrical schematics, a DTC index and a special tool index. The rear axle chapter covers the TB 172 and the TB 138.5 High Speed transmissions separately.

New Holland W50C, W60C, W70C, W80C Common Problems This Manual Covers
Machine does not move
The Hydraulic Systems troubleshooting table lists low oil level as a cause of a machine that will not move. The fix is to top it up. The reservoir holds 40.0 L (10.6 US gal), and the hydraulic system and transmission together hold 53 L (14 US gal). The Hydraulic Travel System chapter covers the travel motor checks.
Manual Section: Hydraulic systems - Troubleshooting p. 450Lifting force insufficient
The front loader bucket hydraulic troubleshooting section lists a pressure setting that is too low as a cause of weak lifting force. The fix is to set the pressure. Main control valve nominal flow is 65 L/min (17.2 US gpm) on the W50C and W60C. It is 85 L/min (22.5 US gpm) on the W70C and W80C. The lift arm and bucket cylinder chapter covers cylinder seals and bushings.
Manual Section: Front loader bucket hydraulic system - Troubleshooting p. 681Fault code 3409 - Oil pressure too low
The DTC procedure lists low engine oil level as the first cause. Check the level against the operator's manual and top up or repair as required. Then go back to step 1 to confirm the fault has cleared. With a filter change, the engine takes 7.0 L (7.4 US qt).
Manual Section: FAULT CODES - 3409 Oil pressure too low p. 1227Fault code 2741 - Power supply fault on Differential Lock solenoid (HSD)
On W70C and W80C machines with a differential lock, code 2741 means a power supply fault on the Differential Lock solenoid (HSD). The first cause listed is a faulty fuse F-015 (5 A). The remedy is to replace the fuse F-015 (5 A) on the fuse module. Differential lock solenoid and valve removal are covered in the electrical chapter.
Manual Section: FAULT CODES - 2741 Power supply fault on Differential Lock solenoid (HSD) p. 1013Frequently Asked Questions
Which wheel loaders does the New Holland W50C / W60C / W70C / W80C service manual cover?
It covers eight variants: W50C TC, W50C ZB, W60C TC, W60C ZB, W70C, W70C HS, W80C and W80C HS. These are the Stage IIIB machines under part number 47768541C, dated March 2017. No serial range is printed, so go by the model plate and variant. It does not cover the older non-C W50, W60, W70 or W80. p. 2
How much engine oil does the New Holland W50C to W80C take with a filter change?
All eight variants take 7.0 L (7.4 US qt) with a filter change. The cooling system holds 13 L (3.4 US gal) of 50/50 coolant and water. Fuel system capacity is 86.0 L (22.7 US gal). p. 39
What is different in servicing the W70C and W80C High Speed models?
The gearbox fill is the first difference. High Speed machines take 0.75 L (0.2 US gal), compared with 1.3 L (0.3 US gal) on the standard W70C and W80C. The rear axle chapter covers the TB 138.5 High Speed transmission separately from the TB 172. The travel system chapter adds a gear shift valve for the High Speed models. p. 41
What are the steering relief and shock valve settings on the New Holland W50C to W80C?
The steering relief valve is built into the steering motor and is set at 175 bar (2538 psi). The shock valve is set at 240 bar (3480 psi). Both settings apply to every variant. The steering chapter also covers load sensing, the priority valve, and service of the steering control valve and cylinder. p. 746
Does the New Holland W50C to W80C manual include schematics and fault codes?
Yes. The harness drawings and electrical schematic sheets cover power distribution, starting, UCM fuses and the CAN bus. Hydraulic schematic frame 01 covers the W50C and W60C, and frame 02 covers the W70C and W80C. Pump and travel motor schemas are also included. The DTC section has its own index, and each code gives causes and repair steps, for example 2741 - Power supply fault on Differential Lock solenoid (HSD) points first to fuse F-015. p. 1000
