This is the full factory workshop manual for the New Holland TM120, TM130, TM140, TM155, TM175 and TM190 tractors, the same service information a dealer technician works from. It covers the whole tractor: the 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, fuel and cooling, the clutch and the Range Command and Power Command semi-powershift transmissions, the four-wheel-drive and SuperSteer front axle, the rear axle and PTO, the brakes, the electronic-draft-control hydraulic lift and remote valves, hydrostatic steering, the cab with heating and air conditioning, and a full electrical section with the wiring diagrams and electronic controls. Every section carries the specifications, torques, fault finding and step-by-step overhaul procedures, so you can put a transmission, hydraulic or electrical fault right instead of guessing.

Worn clutch packs or an electronic control fault are the usual causes on the Range and Power Command boxes. The Clutch and Transmission section covers the clutch-pack checks, the control calibration and the overhaul with the reassembly torques.

Manual Section: Clutch and Transmission
Axle overheats or makes a grinding noise.

Worn bearings, low oil or gear damage are the usual causes. The Front and Rear Axle sections cover the oil level and quality checks, the bearing and gear inspection and the overhaul to stop the overheating and grinding.

Manual Section: Rear Axle and Differential
Hydraulic system loses pressure and the lift is weak.

A worn load-sensing pump, a stuck valve or contaminated oil are the usual causes. The Hydraulic System section covers the pressure tests, the electronic draft control checks and the pump and valve overhaul to restore lift capacity.

Manual Section: Hydraulic System
Engine is down on power or runs rough.

The Engine and Fuel and Injection sections cover the injection pump and injector testing, the turbocharger and the compression and valve checks to find and fix a down cylinder or worn injection.

Frequently Asked Questions

The transmission slips or will not engage under load - what does the manual cover?

The Clutch and Transmission section covers the Range Command and Power Command semi-powershift transmissions, the clutch packs and the electronic controls with the fault diagnosis and overhaul to sort a slipping or non-engaging transmission.

The three-point hydraulic lift is weak or will not lift - where do I start?

The Hydraulic System section covers the electronic draft control, the remote valves and the closed-centre load-sensing pump with the pressure tests and overhaul, so you can find a worn pump or a control fault behind the weak lift.

An axle is overheating or making a grinding noise - is that covered?

Yes. The Front and Rear Axle sections cover the differential, final drives and bearings with the fault diagnosis and overhaul, so you can find worn bearings or gears behind the overheating and grinding before it fails.

Does this manual include the wiring diagrams for the TM120 to TM190?

Yes. The Electrical System section carries the wiring diagrams, the electronic transmission and hitch controls, the starting and charging systems, sensors and diagnostics, so you can trace an electrical or electronic fault properly.

What power do these models make?

Gross power runs about 121 bhp on the TM120, 131 on the TM130, 143 on the TM140 and 153 on the TM155, with the TM175 and TM190 at the top of the range. All use the 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel.
