Part of the Case IH Repair Manuals.
You are about to set a gauge on the lift circuit, drain the rear housing or read a code off the dash. This Case IH service manual covers the Farmall 65C, 75C, 85C and 95C utility tractors, 2WD and 4WD, with cab or platform.
Each engine family has its own chapter, covering specifications, overhaul and cooling. The drivetrain chapters cover the clutch, the mechanical transmission with splitter, Power Shuttle HI-LO and Power Shuttle 16+16. Axles, PTO, brakes, hydrostatic steering, rear and front lift, cab A/C and wiring diagrams for the cab and platform versions are also in the book.
Losing a day because the three-point hitch won't lift and the dealer is an hour away is a hard way to learn. The fault code chapter covers the EDC rear lift, transmission, ADIC panel, MFD and front lift, so you can fix it and get back in the field.

Case IH Farmall 65C, Farmall 75C, Farmall 85C, Farmall 95C Common Problems This Manual Covers
Fault 1023 or 1024 on the EDC rear lift
Code 1023 means the rear lift control panel is disconnected. Code 1024 means the arms need to be calibrated. Both are listed under the EDC rear lift fault codes in the Fault codes and calibrations chapter. That chapter also covers the HH menu and calibration procedures.
Manual Section: Fault codes and calibrations: EDC rear lift fault codes, HH menu and calibrations p. 1478Transmission fault 2024, clutches A and B not calibrated
Run the clutch and synchronizer calibration from module SB, H1 menu. Clear any other displayed error first. Use the fast range, 1st gear, parking brake on and 1200 to 1300 rpm. Release the clutch pedal with the shuttle in forward. Press the switch to position C and wait for the display to show End.
Manual Section: Fault codes and calibrations: transmission fault codes, clutch and synchronizer calibration p. 1508Electronic front lift flashes only one fault code
The front lift indicator light flashes the fault code, and the control unit shows only one code at a time. The most serious fault comes first. To find out whether other codes are stored, eliminate that fault so the control unit can move on to the next code.
Manual Section: Fault codes and calibrations: electronic front lift p. 598Zero trailer brake release pressure with warning light on
Test at 1000 rpm with oil at 40 to 50 °C; release pressure should be 11 to 12 bar. At 0 bar, make sure the parking brake is off and check the release pressure control valve adjustment. Replace a faulty trailer brake circuit safety switch. Overhaul or replace a faulty hydraulic pump.
Manual Section: Hydraulic systems: trailer brake valve (Italia version) p. 509Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calibrate the Power Shuttle clutches?
Fault 2024 means clutches A and B are not calibrated. The procedure runs from module SB, H1 menu. If the display shows an error code, remove that cause first. Select the fast range, engage 1st gear and apply the parking brake. Bring the engine to 1200 to 1300 rpm. Release the clutch pedal with the shuttle lever in forward. Press the switch into position C. The clutches and synchronizer calibrate automatically, and the display shows End when it's done. p. 1617
What does fault code 1024 mean on a Farmall with electronic lift?
On the EDC rear lift, 1024 means the arms need to be calibrated. The code next to it, 1023, means the rear lift control panel is disconnected. The fault codes and calibrations chapter lists the EDC rear lift codes and covers the HH menu and calibrations. p. 1478
What is the lift relief valve setting on the Case IH Farmall 65C, 75C, 85C, 95C tractor?
The rear lift pressure relief valve is set to 190 to 195 bar (2756 to 2828 psi). The rear lift cylinder safety valve sits higher, at 210 to 215 bar (3046 to 3118 psi). On the steering side, the relief valve is 165 to 170 bar (2393 to 2466 psi) and the cylinder safety valve is 230 to 240 bar (3336 to 3481 psi). p. 448
How much oil goes in the rear transmission?
The rear transmission, gearbox, hydraulic lift, PTO and hydraulic steering share one fill of 42 L (11.1 gal) AKCELA NEXPLORE (MAT 3525). The engine sump takes 8.9 L (2.35 gal) without the filter or 9.5 L (2.51 gal) with it, using AKCELA No. 1 SAE 15W-40. The front axle housing holds 4.5 L (4.76 qt). p. 77
What engine is in the Farmall 85C and 95C?
The 85C uses a 44STA/MNG rated at 63 kW (86 Hp). The 95C uses a 44STA/MND rated at 71 kW (97 Hp). Both make maximum power at 2300 rpm from 4485 cm3 (274 cu. in.), with a 104 mm bore and 132 mm stroke. Maximum torque is 370 Nm (273 ft-lbs) on the 85C and 418 Nm (308 ft-lbs) on the 95C, both at 1300 rpm. All four models are 4-cylinder engines with a BOSCH pump. p. 82
