Forcing a DPF regen, checking trailer brake valve pressure or setting clutch pedal travel on a Farmall 75C through 115C? This Case IH manual covers those jobs step by step. It is CNH part number 47803856 for the Efficient Power tractors, PIN ZDJV16843 and above.

Sections cover engine removal, fuel tanks, DPF and fan drive, clutch, and the mechanical, Power Shuttle and Hi-Lo transmissions with creeper and reverser. The rest covers 4WD and axles, PTO, brakes, hydraulics and hitch, steering, cab climate, electrical and the front loader. There is no engine overhaul section.

Every day the tractor sits with a stuck PTO or dead 4WD is a day of hay on the ground. Print the sections you need. The pages can go on the bench, collect hydraulic oil and thumbprints, and still get you back in the field before the weather turns.

Case IH Farmall 75C-115C Common Problems This Manual Covers

PTO will not shut off or will not engage

Go to the rear electro-hydraulic control troubleshooting table in the Power take-off section. It covers an independent PTO that does not work or stays on. It separates switch, solenoid and hydraulic causes. PTO clutch engagement oil pressure should be 15.7 bar (228 psi). Put a gauge on the circuit before you split anything.

Manual Section: Power take-off - rear electro-hydraulic control p. 689
4WD does not engage

The 4WD electro-hydraulic control troubleshooting lists three causes. They are a faulty drive gear engage/disengage switch, poor contact at the solenoid valve and a jammed solenoid valve. Check the connector and the switch first. Only then pull the solenoid valve to see whether the spool has stuck.

Manual Section: 4WD and axles - 4WD electro-hydraulic control p. 424
Heavy steering

The hydraulic steering control section lists four causes of a stiff wheel. They are a weak hydraulic pump, a non-return valve held open by debris, a wrong or jammed pressure relief valve and a stiff steering column. While you're at the front end, check toe-in at the track rod end. The maximum is 6 mm (0.24 in).

Manual Section: Steering and wheels - hydraulic steering control p. 1317
DPF needs regeneration or keeps loading up

The DPF exhaust treatment section covers a forced regeneration from the programming menu. The machine must be stationary with the engine running, hand throttle at minimum and PTO off. Expect 15 - 20 min. If you pull the lambda sensor, torque it to 45 to 55 Nm (33.6 to 41 lbf. ft).

Manual Section: Engine - DPF exhaust treatment p. 93

Frequently Asked Questions

What does engine fault code 3293 mean on these tractors?

Code 3293 means the fuel metering unit has exceeded the maximum positive deviation of rail pressure. You'll find it in the fault code section under Electrical systems, alongside the other engine codes. Check the metering unit and rail pressure side before you replace the injectors. p. 2481

How do I set the clutch pedal on a mechanical model with a cab?

Use the adjusting screw to bring the pedal to distance A. On mechanical models with a cab that is 143.00 - 147.00 mm (5.63 - 5.79 in) from pedal to floor. After that, confirm the clutch pedal switch closes before 15 % of pedal travel, or the tractor may refuse to start. p. 130

What trailer brake pressure should I see at the valve on a Case IH Farmall 75C-115C?

Put 30 - 35 daN on the service brake pedals and the trailer brake valve should read 135 - 145 bar (1958 - 2103 psi). The Brakes section covers both the hydraulic and pneumatic trailer brake control. Put a gauge on it before you blame the trailer. p. 950

My loader feels slow. What pump output and relief settings apply?

A new lift pump is rated at 48.36 l/min (12.78 US gpm) on the mechanical transmission. On Power Shuttle and Hi-Lo it is 62.95 l/min (16.63 US gpm). The remote control valve relief is set at 190 - 195 bar (2755 - 2828 psi). Flow-test the pump against those numbers before you pull the loader valve apart. p. 1046

Does this manual cover a full engine rebuild?

No. The engine section covers removal and installation, the fuel tanks, DPF exhaust treatment and the fan drive. It identifies each engine, for example F5DFL413H*A002 on the 75C and F5DFL413A*A001 on the 105C. For internal engine work you need the separate FPT engine manual. p. 3
