Part of the Case IH Repair Manuals.
Case IH service manual 48194628 covers the Farmall 85A, 95A, 105A and 115A, listed in the book under factory codes TD5.85, TD5.95, TD5.105 and TD5.115. It gives you the real fill capacities, relief valve settings, shuttle test pressures and ECU fault code tables, so you are not relying on parts counter guesswork.
A DPF that won't regenerate or a shuttle clutch reading low pressure tends to show up mid-season, with half a field still standing. The book covers manual regeneration, the power shuttle pressure test and the 12 x 4, 12 x 12 and 20 x 12 transmissions. It also covers the powered front axle, brakes, hydraulic lift, steering, air conditioning and wiring schematics.
Keep it on a phone or tablet in the cab or on the bench. The spec is there wherever the tractor stopped.

Case IH Farmall 85A, Farmall 95A, Farmall 105A, Farmall 115A Common Problems This Manual Covers
Hydraulic lift does not raise
The lift troubleshooting table narrows this to three causes. Replace a clogged oil filter. Release a control valve that is jammed in the discharge position. Overhaul or replace a defective hydraulic pump. The same section covers the BOSCH A31 pump and main lift removal and adjustment.
Manual Section: Hydraulic systems - Troubleshooting p. 469Steering wheel excessively stiff
Work through the steering troubleshooting list. Repair an inefficient hydraulic pump. If the check valve is held open by foreign bodies or its ball is missing, clean the valve and the filter. Reset a relief valve that is set wrong or jammed. Free a steering column that has stiffened on its bushing from rust or seizing.
Manual Section: Steering - Hydraulic control components - Troubleshooting p. 556Braking ineffectual or unbalanced
Weak braking comes from worn friction material on the oil-bath brake discs, and the fix is new discs. If the tractor pulls to one side, check for incorrect tyre pressure or one worn disc. Inflate the tyres to the correct pressure and replace the worn disc. The Brakes section also covers bleeding and pedal adjustment.
Manual Section: Hydraulic service brakes - Troubleshooting p. 399DPF pressure sensor hose error
The engine control unit sets this error when the differential pressure signal drops below 1.0 kPa (0.1 psi). The cause is a hose upstream of the diesel particulate filter that is not attached or is clogged. Check how the hose lines are mounted and make sure they are clear. The EGR and DPF section also lists the lambda and DPF pressure sensor fault codes.
Manual Section: EGR exhaust treatment - DPF pressure sensor hose line error p. 39Frequently Asked Questions
How much oil and coolant does the Farmall 85A to 115A take?
Engine oil is 8.5 L (2.25 US gal) of SAE 10W-40 API CJ-4, from the consumables table. The rear transmission, gearbox, hydraulic lift and PTO share 46 L (12.15 US gal). Coolant is 14 L (3.7 US gal) without a cab and 16 L (4.2 US gal) with one. The fuel tank holds 121 L (29.06 US gal). Each rear final drive takes 5.3 L (1.40 US gal), and each front final drive takes 1.25 L (0.3 US gal). p. 12
How do I run a manual DPF regeneration?
Allow 15 to 20 minutes. The tractor stays parked with the engine running and the hand brake on. Set the hand throttle to minimum and release the foot throttle. Leave the PTO disengaged and the hydraulics inactive. On the central monitor, enter the setup menu, step to the filter symbol and confirm. When the monitor shows START, confirm again. It changes to WAIT and regeneration begins. Give no commands until the monitor reads OFF. If any of those conditions change, the regeneration stops. p. 22
How do I pressure test the power shuttle?
Unscrew the plug for the clutch you are testing and fit a pressure gauge to the test port. Run the engine at 1500 RPM and read the gauge. The spec is 15.97 to 16.03 bar (231.57 to 232.44 psi). A slightly low reading, down to 14 bar (203 psi), can mean a sticking or contaminated valve. Pull the regulated spool, clean and polish it, then retest. A reading of 10 to 12 bar (145 to 174 psi) points more toward an internal leak in the clutch system. Even then, do the valve checks first. p. 130
How do I check front wheel toe-in?
Inflate the front tyres to 2.50 bar (36.25 psi), centre the steering wheel and park on flat, level ground. Measure between the fronts of the wheel rims at hub height and chalk mark the rims. Roll the tractor forward until the wheels turn exactly 180 degrees, then measure again at the marks. Toe-in must not exceed 5.0 mm (0.1969 in). Adjust it at the end of the transverse steering tie rod. p. 262
What are the Farmall 85A to 115A hydraulic lift relief pressure and lift capacity?
The hydraulic lift pressure relief valve is set to 186 to 191 bar (2697 to 2770 psi). The cylinder safety valve is set to 210 to 215 bar (3045 to 3117 psi). The Category 2 three-point hitch lifts 2700 kg (5952 lb) with the top link in the hole on the upper support. With the top link on the upper support pin, it lifts 3565 kg (7859 lb). Both figures assume the load sits 610 mm from the lower link ends with the arms horizontal. p. 447
