The clutch slips
Go to the clutch troubleshooting table in Clutch Release Control and Clutch. If the disks are worn, replace the worn parts and then adjust the levers on the pressure plates and the clutch controls. If the Belleville spring is stretched or damaged, replace it. If there is oil or grease on the friction surfaces, fit new disks. Measure the driven plate thickness against the clutch specifications table before you reassemble.

The Steering Control troubleshooting lists three causes. If the hydraulic pump is faulty, repair it. If a non-return valve is held open by foreign bodies or its ball is missing, clear out the debris, clean the filter and fit a new ball. If the pressure relief valve is set wrong, calibrate it to 165 - 170 bar (2392.5 - 2465 psi).

Check the oil level in the tank first and top it up if it is low. If the pump inlet filter is clogged, clean or replace it. Air in the pump suction pipe also makes the lift jerk, so check the suction pipe, its fittings and the seal. The lift pump spec of 45 l/min (11.89 US gpm) is in Hydraulic Systems Pumps and Valves.

Put a gauge on the system and check system pressure first, against the 17.50 - 18.50 Kg/cm² (248.91 - 263.13 psi) working spec. If system pressure is good, check forward clutch pressure, then reverse clutch pressure. If either one is low, repair that clutch as needed.
