Part of the John Deere Repair Manuals.
This is the factory repair manual for the John Deere 6110R, 6120R, 6130R and 6135R tractors, 2016-2021 worldwide build. It covers the PowerTech PVS 4.5L engine (106.5 mm bore, 127 mm stroke) from removal through teardown and rebuild, plus all three transmissions fitted to these frames: AutoPowr/IVT, PowrQuad Plus and DirectDrive. You also get front axle and MFWD repair, wet-disc brakes, hydraulic pump and SCV service, steering, cab and HVAC work, ECU removal and replacement, and the dealer special-tool list. One thing to know before you buy: this is the repair book with disassembly and assembly procedures, not the diagnostic manual with fault codes and wiring schematics. Those live in the companion Diagnosis and Tests volume.

John Deere 6110R, 6120R, 6130R, 6135R Common Problems This Manual Covers
Entire hydraulic system stops working, or the oil overheats under load
Start with the transmission/hydraulic filter and oil supply before condemning the pump. The Hydraulic System section gives pump, rockshaft and SCV disassembly and reseal procedures, so you can find the internal leak or restriction and fix it properly.
Manual Section: Hydraulic SystemClutch plates come out glazed, burnt or cracked during transmission work
Friction discs worn below minimum thickness or contaminated oil will do this. Each transmission section, whether AutoPowr/IVT, PowrQuad Plus or DirectDrive, covers clutch pack teardown, inspection limits and reassembly so you replace the right plates the first time.
Manual Section: AutoPowr/IVT, PowrQuad and DirectDrive Transmission sectionsBattery won't charge, or the charge indicator stays lit with the engine running
Usually a failing alternator, a sulfated battery or corroded connections. The Electrical System section covers alternator and starter removal and repair, battery service and harness repair, so you can test and replace components instead of guessing at the parts counter.
Manual Section: Electrical SystemHydraulic cylinder bores scored or piston rods bent from failed seals
Once a seal lets dirt or moisture past, the bore scores fast. The Steering and Hydraulic System sections cover cylinder disassembly, inspection and resealing, and the Special Tools section lists the dealer tools you need to do the job without wrecking the new seals.
Manual Section: Hydraulic System / SteeringFrequently Asked Questions
Does this manual cover the AutoPowr/IVT transmission, or just the gear boxes?
All three. There are separate sections for the AutoPowr/IVT continuously-variable unit, the PowrQuad Plus and the DirectDrive dual-clutch box, each with full overhaul procedures from removal to reassembly. Whichever transmission your tractor left the factory with, the teardown is in here.
Does it include diagnostic trouble codes and wiring diagrams?
No, and I'd rather tell you straight than have you find out after buying. This is the repair volume: component removal, teardown, rebuild, assembly. DTCs, operational tests and wiring schematics are in the separate Diagnosis and Tests manual. If your problem is 'the tractor throws a code and I don't know why', you want that book. If your problem is 'I know what's broken and need to take it apart correctly', this is the one.
Are the engine rebuild specs actually in here, or just procedures?
The specs are in the General Information section along with torque values, fuels and lubricants. For example, valve clearance is 0.48 mm intake and 0.53 mm exhaust, hot or cold, and low idle is 845-855 rpm. The Engine section then walks the PowerTech PVS 4.5L through removal, teardown and rebuild step by step.
My hydraulics are weak and the oil runs hot. Will this manual help me fix it?
Yes, once you've narrowed it down. On these tractors hot hydraulic oil usually traces to an internal leak, a clogged filter or a dirty cooler. The Hydraulic System section covers pump, rockshaft, SCV and three-point hitch repair, so you can open up and reseal whichever component is bleeding pressure instead of swapping parts blind.
Is this a printed book or a download, and which serial numbers does it fit?
It's a digital PDF you can search, print by the section, and keep on a shop tablet. It covers the 6110R, 6120R, 6130R and 6135R from the 2016-2021 production run. The worldwide edition also references the 6145R and 6155R, but this listing is aimed at the four smaller frames.
