This is the factory repair manual for John Deere 9300T, 9400T, 9320T, 9420T, 9520T and 9620T track tractors, covering the 12.5 L in-line six from the 268 kW (360 hp) 9300T up to the 373 kW (500 hp) 9620T. It is a teardown and rebuild book: component removal and installation, torque values, sealants, and step-by-step repair for the engine, Power Shift and Mechanical Shift transmissions, drive systems, rear axle with outboard planetary final drives, steering differential, hydraulics, cab, and the track frame with its tension cylinder and accumulator. It also includes the dealer fabricated tool drawings you need for pullers and fixtures. If a major component on one of these machines is coming apart, this is the book that walks you through it.

John Deere 9300T–9620T Common Problems This Manual Covers

Brake pedal sits too high, too low, or feels spongy

Check and adjust the brake rod actuators until a 0.025 to 1.3 mm (0.001 to 0.05 in.) gap exists between the pedal and its upper stop, then tighten the lock nut. The brake valve mounting bracket cap screws torque to 25 N.m (18 lb-ft), tightened twice in sequence for even clamping.

Manual Section: Steering and Brakes - Brake Valve p. 848
Hitch or SCV surges, jerks, or loses pressure under load

Connect a hand pump with a 34500 kPa (5000 psi) gauge and the JDG789 test adapter to the surge relief valve. A healthy valve should read 24000 to 26000 kPa (240 to 260 bar; 3500 to 3750 psi) when oil starts coming out the adapter drain port. Out of that range means the relief valve needs adjustment or replacement, not a swapped hitch valve.

Manual Section: Hydraulics - Hitch Valve, Selective Control Valves, and Couplers p. 951
Engine mounting bolts or the drive coupler keep working loose after service

Reinstall to the printed torques rather than guessing: engine mounts-to-frame cap screws 325 N.m (240 lb-ft), engine mounts-to-engine cap screws 300 N.m (230 lb-ft), transmission drive shaft-to-engine coupler cap screws 210 N.m (155 lb-ft), and the engine lift bracket cap screws (10.5 L and 12.5 L engines) 90 N.m (66 lb-ft).

Manual Section: Engine - Component Removal and Installation p. 40
Engine runs hot or the cooling system will not hold pressure

Pressure-test the system before chasing a head gasket: the radiator itself should hold 80 kPa (0.8 bar; 12 psi), and the radiator cap should relieve between 60 and 80 kPa (0.6 to 0.8 bar; 9 to 12 psi). System capacity is 60 L (16 gal) if a full refill is needed after the test.

Manual Section: Fuel, Air, and Cooling Systems - Cooling System p. 82

No. This Repair Manual has zero fault-code content. The cover itself lists the companion volumes for that: 9320T/9420T/9520T/9620T Operation and Test (TM1982), 9300T/9400T Operation and Test (TM1784), and 9300T/9400T Diagnostics and Test (TM1783). This book is the hands-on teardown and rebuild side. p. 1

Does it include wiring diagrams or electrical schematics?

No. The Electrical section covers connectors, wiring harnesses, charging and starting circuits, relays, fuses and switches, but there are no wiring schematics in this Repair Manual. p. 111

What engine and horsepower does each model have?

All six models share a 12.5 L in-line 6-cylinder turbocharged, air-to-air aftercooled diesel. Factory-observed power: 9300T 268 kW (360 hp), 9320T 280 kW (375 hp), 9400T and 9420T 316 kW (425 hp), 9520T 336 kW (450 hp), 9620T 373 kW (500 hp). p. 26

Does this manual cover the track undercarriage and tension system?

Yes. Section 95 covers the track frame, tracks, and the tension cylinder and nitrogen accumulator, including the cross-sectional and exploded views used for rebuild. p. 1191
