Part of the New Holland Operator Manuals.
Steering clutches and brakes are where a crawler tractor punishes guesswork, and the New Holland TK75VA-TK100A operator manual PDF (OEM 87545315, 124 pages) walks you through them before covering the rest of the machine: main clutch, PTO, hydraulic lift, and the range and shuttle transmission. Six variants from the TK75VA through the TK100A ride on this one book. The lubrication and maintenance table takes up the biggest share of it, laying out service work at the 50, 300, 900, and 1200 hour marks, with a warning light guide so the instrument panel actually tells you something. The TK80A, TK90A and TK100A engine sump takes 10.5 liters of oil without the filter, then torque the output shaft nuts to 162 N·m (119 ft-lb). A made-up pressure figure can cost you an injection pump. Buy it once and it stays with the tractor, bookmarked and text searchable, ready before the weather window closes.

New Holland TK75VA-TK100A Common Problems This Manual Covers
New Holland TK90A PTO shaft wobbles and vibrates under load with the rotary cutter engaged
On the TK80A, TK90A and TK100A the two splined output shafts are held by nuts tightened to 162 N⋅m (119 ft-lb): fit the 1-3/8 in shaft with 6 grooves for 540 rpm and the 1-3/8 in shaft with 21 grooves for 1000 rpm (page 47). Never run the PTO faster than the implement requires, and before operating a PTO-driven implement check that the safety clutch on the machine transmission shaft slips if overloaded (page 47).
Manual Section: Field Operation p. 47Engine oil pressure warning light stays on after startup and will not go out at idle
Low engine oil pressure is one of the warning light indications that needs immediate attention (page 64). The engine troubleshooting table on page 95 lists low oil level (add oil as required) and the wrong oil grade or viscosity (drain and refill with oil of the correct grade and viscosity). After an oil change the drain plug is tightened to 69 N⋅m (51 ft-lb) and the new filter cartridge screwed on hand tight 3/4 of a turn (page 76).
Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting p. 95New machine only a few weeks old, track shoes working loose and clattering under load
After the first 50 hours of work, check that the track shoe screws on lubricated tracks are tightened to 133 ± 15 N⋅m (98 ± 11 ft-lb), following the crossed tightening sequence shown in the figure (page 64). The check only needs to be carried out on lubricated tracks.
Manual Section: Lubrication and Maintenance p. 64Three point hitch raises slowly or will not lift a mounted plow at full throttle
On the hydraulic lift troubleshooting table (page 99), a lift that operates slowly in draft control points to the combined draft/position control being incorrectly set (adjust it), a lowering speed that is too slow (have the control valve checked) or an implement not working properly; linkage that does not move points to cylinder tubes not connected correctly or a linkage overload. The transmission oil also serves the hydraulic lift: 39.0 liters on the TK80A, TK90A and TK100A and 33.3 liters on the TK75VA (page 91).
Manual Section: Hydraulic Lift and 3-Point Equipment Coupling Troubleshooting p. 99Frequently Asked Questions
What is the torque for the track shoe retaining bolts on the New Holland TK75VA-TK100A?
The track shoe retaining bolts must be tightened to a torque of 133 ± 15 N⋅m (98 ± 11 ft-lb). This check should be performed after the first 50 hours of work on lubricated tracks. p. 64
How do I check the engine oil level on the New Holland TK75VA-TK100A?
Check the oil level with the engine on a flat surface and switched off. Allow at least five minutes for the oil to settle in the sump, then remove the dipstick, clean it, reinsert it, and check that the level is between the MIN and MAX marks. p. 67
What is the fan belt tension on the New Holland TK75VA-TK100A?
The fan belt tension should be 10 to 11 mm (0.3937 to 0.4330 in) when measured with a load of 8 to 10 kg (17.5 to 22 lbs). p. 67
What is the fuel tank capacity for the TK80A, TK90A, and TK100A models?
The fuel tank capacity for these models is 121 liters (32 gallons). p. 63
What is the valve clearance on the New Holland TK75VA-TK100A engine?
The valve clearance for both inlet and exhaust valves, when the engine is cold, is 0.30 ± 0.05 mm (0.0118 ± 0.0019 in). p. 80
