Part of the New Holland Repair Manuals.
Printed by New Holland under part number 87042097, this 432-page factory book is the genuine New Holland TT55, TT75 repair manual PDF for both tractors. Linear wiring diagrams trace the starting, charging and safety circuits, the thermostart and injection pump feed, and every lamp and flasher run, while hydraulic schematics show oil routing with one, two or three remote valves installed. From splitting the tractor to injector sleeve replacement, your engine overhaul is laid out in full, and that detail carries into the clutch, 4WD front axle bevel drive, final drives, brakes and hydrostatic steering motor. Press the water pump impeller on with 0.017 to 0.059 mm of interference, and bring the rim to disc nuts up to 245 N·m (181 ft.lbs.). Per-system bookmarks and a searchable text layer jump you straight to the lift adjustment checks.

New Holland TT55, TT75 Common Problems This Manual Covers
New Holland TT55 TT75 thermostat or radiator fault with temperature gauge needle climbing into red range
Check the gauge first: green runs 30° to 105° C and red is 105° to 115° C (page 51). Pull the thermostat and confirm it starts opening at 79° C ± 2° C and is fully open at 94° C. If coolant keeps disappearing, remove the radiator and seal-test it in 20° to 40° C water with 0.98 bar (14.2 psi) air for about two minutes. Repeat the test at least three times, as page 129 directs.
Manual Section: Engine Overhaul p. 51Worn oil pump or relief valve with engine oil pressure reading below normal
Verify oil pressure with a test gauge against the normal 2.9 to 3.9 bar (42.6 to 56.9 PSI) listed on page 50. If it reads low, remove the pump. Measure gear clearance in the pump body (0.060 to 0.170 mm) and shaft clearance in the driven gear (0.033 to 0.066 mm). Check the relief valve spring free length against 45.0 mm.
Manual Section: Engine Overhaul p. 50Dual cartridge air cleaner element blocked with the clogged filter indicator showing restriction
Remove the element and blow the debris out from the inside using compressed air at no more than 2.1 bar (30 psi). Wear a face shield and eye protection while you do it, as page 159 warns. Reinstall the element. Torque the air cleaner retaining bolts to 23 N·m (204 in.-lb.) and the tube clamps to 2.0 N·m (18 in.-lb.) per page 156.
Manual Section: Air Cleaning System p. 159Engine will not start with PTO control lever left in the forward left-hand engaged position
Move the PTO lever out of the forward left-hand position (A). Page 240 states the engine will not start unless the PTO is disengaged. Before you touch any attached PTO equipment, disengage the clutch and move the selector lever to neutral. Stop the engine and wait for the PTO and implement to stop before stepping down (page 239). Then check the PTO clutch linkage adjustment in the Clutches section starting on page 161.
Manual Section: Power Take-Off (PTO) p. 240Hydraulic lift or remote control valve connections weeping oil under system pressure
Locate the leak with cardboard or a rag, never your hands; pressurized oil can penetrate skin (page 257). Turn the engine off, lower any attached implement, and bleed the remaining pressure before disconnecting couplers (pages 257 and 260). Replace O-rings and seals damaged by overheated oil. Tighten all connections before restarting, keep the work area clean, and change the oil filter at 400 operating hours per page 285.
Manual Section: Hydraulic System p. 257Alternator charging circuit suspect with the 90 Ah battery repeatedly running flat
Wear a face shield and protective clothing, since batteries contain sulfuric acid. Disconnect the negative cable first before servicing electrical parts (pages 343 and 391). Never make or break connections with the engine running, and never short charging components to ground. Check the battery against its 90 Ah rating on page 390. Then check alternator output against the 55 Amps maximum on page 376 so the tractor is ready for the next weather window.
Manual Section: Electrical System p. 376Frequently Asked Questions
Why won't the New Holland TT55/TT75 PTO engage?
The PTO will not engage if the safety interlock or neutral switch is active. The manual states: "A safety interlock, or neutral switch prevents the starter motor from operating when the PTO control lever is in the engaged position." p. 239
How do you bleed the fuel system on a New Holland TT55/TT75?
To bleed the fuel system, unscrew the bleed plug on the fuel filter and operate the priming lever on the fuel supply pump until the fuel flows out free of bubbles. Then, tighten the plug and loosen the fuel line unions on the injectors, crank the engine, and re-tighten the unions once the fuel flows out free of bubbles. p. 148
What are the replacement specs for engine oil and transmission/hydraulic filters on a New Holland TT55, TT75?
The engine oil filter should be replaced every 200 hours after the first 50 hours of operation. The hydraulic oil filter should be replaced every 400 operating hours. p. 35
What is the correct torque for the cylinder head bolts on the TT55/TT75 engine?
The cylinder head bolts must be tightened in four stages. The preliminary torque is 70 N·m (7.1 kgm, 52 ft. lbs.), followed by two 90-degree tightening stages. p. 59
What is the correct valve clearance for the New Holland TT55, TT75 engine?
The valve clearance for both inlet and exhaust valves on a cold engine is 0.30 mm ± 0.05 mm (0.0118 in. ± 0.0020 in.). p. 49
