Shut the machine down and relieve system pressure before touching anything. Inspect hoses and fittings section by section for cracked braiding or weeping seals, and check the pressure test ports covered to isolate which circuit is losing pressure. Replace any hose showing surface cracks rather than patching it, and torque fittings per general torque specifications on page 12.

Check the electrical troubleshooting procedures before pulling the starter. Verify battery terminals are clean and tight, then load-test the battery. Measure cranking voltage at the starter solenoid; anything under 9.6 volts under load points to a weak battery or bad ground. Trace wiring per the schematic on page 785 if voltage reads fine but the starter still won't engage.

Check reservoir sight glass at the start of every shift, never skip it. Total system capacity runs 85 gallons (320 liters) with a 40 gallon (152 liter) reservoir refill volume noted on page 278, so a low reading fast usually means an external leak, not just consumption. Top off with the specified oil, then re-check for leaks around the pump inlet before returning the machine to work.

Replace the fuel filter on the standard 500-hour interval listed on page 71, don't stretch it if you're running lower-quality fuel. Drain any water from the fuel tank and lines first, since contaminated fuel is the usual reason filters clog early. Check the exploded parts view on page 75 to confirm you're ordering the correct filter element before teardown.

Follow the cylinder and pin maintenance intervals documented, don't rely on memory for the grease schedule. Wipe old grease and debris from each fitting before pumping new grease in, and watch for grease that won't purge cleanly, which signals a worn bushing needing replacement rather than more lubrication.

Pull the machine's serial number plate before ordering anything, and cross-reference it against the general specifications on page 4 to confirm model year and configuration. Mismatched hydraulic pump seals or hose fittings from an off-year unit will leak within hours of installation, so verify fitment against the parts catalog rather than assuming interchangeability across model years.
