Part of the Case IH Operator Manuals.
From the control panel and programming keypad through the PTO, three-point linkage, remote control valves and lubrication schedule, this 304-page Case IH JX1070U-JX1100U series operator manual PDF (OEM 87558108) covers all four variants in the range. Field operation fills the biggest share of the book: cold-weather starting, four-wheel drive and differential lock engagement, brakes, wheel track and steering angle adjustment, tyre pressures, ballast and maximum permitted weights. Each gearbox option gets its own shift guide, from the 12F + 4R Synchro Command to the 24F + 24R Power-Shuttle, and the warning-light and fault-code pages tell you what the dash is reporting. Run the engine at 2199 rpm for 540 PTO, and torque the 2WD front wheel track retention screws to 220 Nm when you change track width. Chasing a dash fault code with hay down costs daylight. Your copy is bookmarked and text-searchable, so it goes with you to the cab, the shop or the far field.

Case IH JX1070U, JX1080U, JX1090U, JX1100U Common Problems This Manual Covers
Case IH JX1070U through JX1100U engine will not start or starts with difficulty on cold mornings
Check the fuel level and confirm you followed the starting procedure, then bleed the fuel system if air got in. Before loosening injection-system parts, thoroughly clean the surrounding area (page 213). Replace a clogged fuel filter element, tightening the cartridge 3/4 of a turn (15 Nm) per page 213. Select the engine oil grade for the temperature from the chart on page 245. Never remove the fuel cap or add fuel with the engine running (page 191). Take a suspected injector fault to your dealer.
Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting p. 248Engine overheating while pulling a heavy implement through long days of field work
Shut the engine down before any check (page 189). The cooling system is pressurized, so keep clear of the fan and belts (page 22). Clean a clogged radiator core, top up the expansion tank and check for leaks, tighten leaking hose connectors, and check the fan belt tensioning device. Replace a defective radiator cap. Change to a lower gear or reduce the load (page 249).
Manual Section: Engine Troubleshooting p. 249Battery charge light stays on with the engine running or flashes during field operation
Check idle speed first and increase it if it is low. With the engine shut off (page 189), check the alternator belt tensioning device and confirm the battery holds at least 12.6 volts, then check electrolyte level and specific gravity per page 251. A flashing charge light means excessive charge voltage. Have your dealer check the alternator in that case, and for any confirmed alternator fault.
Manual Section: Electrical System Troubleshooting p. 251Starter motor cranks slowly or will not turn the engine over at all
Move the gear lever to neutral, then clean and tighten any loose or corroded connections. Never disconnect the start-up safety switch to get around it (page 14). Measure battery voltage: page 251 calls for at least 12.6 volts, and page 226 lists 12.66 V as full charge. Charge or replace flat batteries, always disconnecting the cables and removing the battery from the tractor before recharging (page 226), check electrolyte level and specific gravity, and use engine oil viscosity matched to the temperature.
Manual Section: Electrical System Troubleshooting p. 251Hydraulic system is not working properly or hydraulic fluid overheats when running a hydraulic implement
Park on level ground with the cylinders extended and check the oil level (page 189); a level that is too high or too low will cause overheating. Replace a clogged hydraulic filter, tightening it 3/4 of a turn by hand (page 207), and set flow regulation to a lower capacity. Switch the engine off and discharge pressure before reconnecting hoses, tighten all connectors before starting the engine or pressurising the system, and check for leaks with cardboard, never your hands (page 160). Replace wrong male couplers with standard ISO 1/2 inch ones.
Manual Section: Hydraulic System Troubleshooting p. 252Three-point hitch will not lift fully or responds slowly in draft control
Adjust the link arm top limiter if the linkage stops short, and check that the linkage cylinder tubes are connected correctly. Reduce the load if the linkage will not move at all. Adjust the combined draft/position control when draft response is slow (page 253). Fault code 33 flags battery voltage under 11.5 V (page 149); for other lift fault codes, contact your dealer. Never climb between the implement and the tractor while the external controls are enabled (page 21).
Manual Section: Hydraulic Lift and Three Point Linkage Troubleshooting p. 253Frequently Asked Questions
What do the warning lights and fault codes mean on a Case IH JXU Maxxima tractor?
The control panel uses indicator lights and an information display (10) to signal faults. A red warning light with an intermittent alarm indicates a critical alarm requiring the tractor to be stopped immediately. An amber warning light with an intermittent alarm for 4 seconds indicates a non-critical alarm where the operator may continue work but should investigate the fault via the menu (see page 2-11). p. 29
How do I bleed the fuel system after replacing the fuel filter?
Before loosening any injection-system part, thoroughly clean the surrounding area to avoid contamination. After changing the filtering cartridge, remove the retaining pin (5) and disconnect the pipe from the filter head. Operate the priming lever (3) until fuel flows out of the filter without air bubbles, then reconnect the pipe and replace the pin (5) correctly. p. 213
How do I read fault codes on the Case IH JX1070U, JX1080U, JX1090U, and JX1100U?
If an electrical or electronic fault occurs, the illuminated indicator (1) on the display will underline the fault code through a system of flashes. The code is transmitted in four phases: a 2-second pause, the first digit in flashes, a 1-second pause, and the second digit in flashes. A fault that disables the lift controls is given priority over any codes issued earlier. p. 148
What are the engine oil and fuel filter replacement specs for the Case IH JX1070U, JX1080U, JX1090U, JX1100U?
For the engine oil filter, replace the filter (1) and oil the seal, then screw on and tighten the cartridge 3/4 of a turn by hand. For the fuel filter (page 213), first clean the area around the injection-system parts, then lightly oil the seal, screw the new cartridge down into contact with the support, and tighten it by hand by 3/4 of a turn (15 Nm). p. 212
What is the correct cold valve clearance for the engine on the Case IH JX1070U, JX1080U, JX1090U, JX1100U?
With the engine cold, the clearance between the valves and rocker arms should be 0.30 ± 0.05 mm for intake valves and 0.55 ± 0.05 mm for exhaust valves. p. 215
How quickly can I access this Case IH manual after buying?
A single searchable PDF file of 304 pages, downloadable right after payment. Nothing ships, nothing waits in the mail.
Can I print pages of this Case IH JX1070U–JX1100U Series manual for my own shop?
Yes. Print the sections you need to take out to the shop for your own use. Standard letter or A4 paper works.
