A hydrostatic motor that drops off pressure halfway through a lift cycle is not a problem you diagnose from memory. The John Deere 326E service manual PDF, factory document TM13093X19, puts all 345 pages of the repair manual for this skid steer loader on your screen, covering the hydrostatic drive, main hydraulic system, loader frame and attachment coupler, engine removal, and the operator's station. Torque tables run from unified inch and metric cap screws through O-ring face seal and four bolt flange fittings, so every line you reconnect goes back to spec. Set the hydrostatic motor mounting cap screws to 130 N·m (95 lb.-ft.), and replace a brake disk once it wears below 1.60 mm (0.063 in.). Guess at either figure and the bill is a second teardown plus whatever you ruined the first time. Bookmarks and a live text layer put the section you need two clicks from the cover.

John Deere 326E Common Problems This Manual Covers

John Deere 326E loses drive and hydraulic power under load, bucket lifts slow with a weak engine

Check fuel delivery first; a starved engine mimics a worn pump. Verify the 92.0 L (24.3 gal.) fuel tank on page 154 is feeding clean fuel and replace restricted filters. Check hydraulic oil level and condition next. If power stays low, remove the hydrostatic pump and reinstall with cap screws torqued to 130 N·m (96 lb.-ft.) per page 123.

Manual Section: Hydrostatic System p. 123
Electric quick attach cylinder will not move, attachment lock pins never engage the coupler plate

Test for voltage at the quick attach cylinder connector with the switch held; no voltage means chase the wiring and relay, not the cylinder. If powered but dead, replace the cylinder using the Attachment Coupler procedures on page 274. If you disturb the bucket cylinder pins during access, torque the pin cap screws to 73 N·m (54 lb.-ft.) per page 275.

Manual Section: Loader p. 274
One side brake drags and hub runs hot after short travel distances

Remove the hydrostatic motor and park brake on the hot side and measure the brake disks against page 82 specs: 1.60 mm (0.063 in.) minimum thickness and 0.20 mm (0.008 in.) maximum flatness. Replace any spacer plate thinner than 1.50 mm (0.059 in.). Reinstall the motor with mounting cap screws torqued to 130 N·m (95 lb.-ft.) per page 70.

Manual Section: Hydrostatic System p. 82
Loader functions respond erratically and the joystick does not hold a commanded position

Check the joystick connectors and CAN wiring for corrosion and loose pins before condemning the joystick itself. If the erratic response returns, replace the joystick per the Controls Linkage steps and torque the hub coupler set screws to 35 N·m (25 lb.-ft.) on page 64. Run the calibration procedure before returning the machine to work.

Manual Section: Controls Linkage p. 64
Hydraulic oil runs hot during heavy auxiliary use and the cooling fan barely turns

Clean chaff and debris out of the cooling package first, then check the hydraulic fan motor and its lines for leaks. Retorque the fan motor to oil filter manifold line to 63 N·m (46 lb.-ft.) and the case drain line to 37 N·m (27 lb.-ft.) per page 252. If you replace the fan, torque the hub nut to 50 N·m (37 lb.-ft.) on page 254.
