Part of the Kubota Repair Manuals.
This is the Kubota Workshop Manual for the M4950(DT), M5950(DT), M6950(DT) and M7950(DT) utility tractors, a 334 page factory service document. It applies to machines running the S2800, D3200, V4000-2 and V4300 engines in two and four wheel drive form.Inside you get the repair chain for the whole machine: separation of the major units, clutch, transmission, rear axle and differential, brakes, front axle, power steering, the three point hydraulic system, and the electrical system with starting and charging circuits. Servicing standards, tightening torques, trouble shooting charts and check and maintenance procedures are laid out section by section. With this PDF you can find the right torque or clearance, split the tractor safely to reach a failed component, and rebuild it to Kubota figures instead of guessing. It is a searchable download you can print or keep on a phone, tablet or laptop out in the shop.

Kubota M4950–M7950 Series Common Problems This Manual Covers
Clutch drag and heavy pedal
A clutch that drags makes gears grind or the tractor creep with the pedal down, often from lost pedal play or a worn dual clutch on the M4950 and M5950. The Clutch section gives the clutch pedal play and PTO lever play specs plus the adjustment steps.
Manual Section: Clutch p. 180Hard shifting or transmission noise
Notchy shifts, jumping out of gear, or gear whine usually mean worn synchros, forks or bearings inside the case. The Transmission section covers clutch housing and transmission case disassembly, assembly and servicing.
Manual Section: Transmission p. 197Weak or uneven braking
A spongy pedal or a tractor that pulls to one side under braking points to air in the system or worn friction parts. The Brakes section covers bleeding, adjustment of the travelling and parking brakes, and full disassembly and servicing.
Manual Section: Brakes p. 226Front axle play and wear (4WD)
Shimmy, tie rod slop, or drive noise at the front develops as bearings and joints wear on the driven axle. The Front Axle section carries the checking and adjustment, disassembly and assembly, and servicing procedures.
Manual Section: Front Axle p. 243Power steering feels weak
Slow or heavy steering usually traces to the hydraulic pump or the full hydrostatic steering body rather than the linkage. The Steering section walks through pump and steering body disassembly, assembly and servicing plus the steering cylinder.
Manual Section: Steering p. 265Three point hitch will not lift
A hitch that drops loads or lifts slowly points to the hydraulic pump, control valve or a worn relief valve. The Hydraulic System section covers control linkage adjustment and the pump and control valve disassembly and servicing.
Manual Section: Hydraulic System p. 276Starting or charging faults
No crank, slow crank, or a battery that will not stay charged points to the starter, charging circuit or a tired battery. The Electrical System section covers battery checks and starting and charging system checking, disassembly and servicing.
Manual Section: Electrical System p. 296Frequently Asked Questions
